Main present ideas for 3 (nearly 4 year old) girl

Hi,

My little girl will be 4 in February and I’m struggling with a main present to get her for Christmas and wondered what other people were considering?

Her main ask is dress up clothes which I’ll be purchasing but stumped on a main present. She loves princesses and superheroes, crafty things and building things. I am considering more duplo but everytime we go to a toy store she looks at the Lego princess sets but these seem to be from 6plus age.

Please share your ideas! Many thanks in advance.

I don't have DC of my own but do have a (spoiled rotten) just-gone-5 DGD, so I have bought her a ride-on Vesper scooter and a large kid-friendly easel.

Crafty things sound lovely, so really I'm place marking for ideas!

Wink I’ve been looking at Aquabeads for my little one. From my perspective they don’t seem too messy Wink.

We have a scooter. She’s not really that interested in that or her bike at the moment Confused. She just loves dressing up herself and her princess and superhero figures

The only thing mine has asked for is a bike. Other than that she has a few small things like Orchard toy games and a soft toy of her favourite TV character. We have a large family so she gets a ridiculous amount of stuff from them!

I forgot to say, duplo is a bit complex for my dd but she has friends the same age who are fine with lego so it may be worthwhile purchasing if she seems interested

My daughter is the same age and she wants the Poopsie doll, Ariel doll which lights up and sings and Polly Pocket.

Mine also really likes Bunchems, we haven't tried aquabeads yet

DD2 will be 3.5 at Christmas. We don’t really do a ‘main’ present but she’s having a Frozen Lego set (it is 6+ but she loves Lego) and the Sylvanian families school.

What about a really nice wooden trunk that you can fill with her dressing up clothes? A well made one will last her a lifetime with many different functions and you could have her name burned onto it or whatever...

The Vespa scooter looks so cool!

Thank you for sharing and giving me some ideas.

Think I may take a good look at the older Lego and go from there.

Ooh never seen Bunchems so will take a look at those too. Also remembered about the mosaic sticker pictures too, she really likes them.

She already has a clothes rail (made by DH) but if she didn’t have that the trunk is a lovely idea.

A wooden trunk is a lovely idea. We have a great old-fashioned toy shop here in my town and they hand make & personalise things like that. I got all the young nieces/nephews small trinket boxes & height charts last year, painted in themes (trains for X, butterflies for Y etc). Lovely if you have a shop like that nearby (or IWOOT or GettingPersonal) they probably wanted something plastic or slimy

Firstly why can't she have dress up clothes as her main present? And secondly, duplo is duplo is duplo. My two year old loves all of it including stuff that said 6+ on the box. I dont think it matters.

Hideandgo · 09/10/2018 20:37

Ooooh! You said princess lego, not princess duplo! Well same thing. My 5 yr old has played heavily with lego since 4. Never looked at age on the box.

My dds have always had lots of smaller gifts rather than a large main gift.

At 3-4 my dds loved happyland and the Fisher price Disney princess little people castle. They also had busy books with playmat and 12 figures (all sorts if characters - I buy and wrap with the dvd, last year was moana and paw patrol. This year the incredibles 2 and coco)

How about a doctor's kit or toy kitchen especially if she's into role play.

A box of plain capes, masks, t-shirts with fabric pens to design and make her own costumes.

Build a bear - my dds loved going there as a treat.

I'm getting my dd (6) a personalised jewellery box and kids jewellery from smiggle and Claire's sale. She loves her bling 😂

A mirror for her room maybe with the lights on? Or a dressing table. Can get some lovely children's ones. Then little trinket boxes for the top. (If I had space I would get for dd2)
