I know it is tragic to be this excited already, but have been organised this year and secured 2 Ocado delivery slots for 21/12 and 24/12 Grin.

I've just chucked booze in for now to reach the £90, but this means can stat planning the food with DH now. Marvellous.

Anyone else planning their food shops yet? Or am I on my own Blush.

No occado for me either. I wouldn't even call myself a feminist, just a woman (and as occado don't believe women exist, it's obviously not possible to give them my business, being a woman and all).

Sainsburys all the way for my Christmas slot.

MrsA - here's the second 'what have Ocado done' thread, which links to the first:

Ah, feminist bollocks that's given us paid maternity leave, equal pay, making rape in marriage a crime, the vote.

And privacy and safety for us and our daughters in single-sex spaces. Oh, hang on...

Ocado are shit. Why give money to a company who hate women!? Weird.

MoggyP · 05/10/2018 07:24

I think you're projecting say they hate women.

They did not see the poster as a neutral issue, but as a deliberate provocation. They are not alone in that. Not everyone is GC, it's not compulsory and it's not the only way to be feminist.

Of course it's fine to shop with them, Christmas or at any other time

Jaxtellerswife · 05/10/2018 07:52

woman shops at Ocado and is excited for Christmas food

"I hope you don't have children"

What a normal, lovely, reasonable thing to say Hmm

I hope your shopping is lovely op. Merry Christmas!

It’d be much more effective if we all booked multiple Xmas slots, filled them with a grands worth of food then cancelled at the last minute.....

Magair · 05/10/2018 08:07

Anyway, despite being a GC feminist, I am not boycotting Ocado yet. Just haven’t the time. DS2 goes to nursery in January so will be doing it then. So have also booked my slot!

OrchidInTheSun · 05/10/2018 08:09

I've booked my slot with Waitrose Smile

ektomarie · 05/10/2018 08:14

I emailed them asking for account closure and deletion of my personal data and they tried calling me. Then they sent me an email telling me I need to respond within 48 hrs to close my account as you know, it’ll be permanent.

Because little fickle woman that I am, I’m sure once I’ve calmed down and I don’t really mean it.

What the actual?

FurryDogMother · 05/10/2018 08:16

Mine's booked with Waitrose too, not because I'm avoiding Ocado (I'm not, and there is a distinction between feminist bollocks and feminism - the Ocado issue is, IMO, the former) but simply because the slots opened earlier. I've also 'done' the Christmas order - hoping for no substitutions - last year I ended up with three frozen ducks instead of the one frozen goose I'd ordered - but that was Tesco!

Magair · 05/10/2018 11:47

That's really organised FurryDog! I have stuck loads of prosecco in and will edit nearer the time. I'm not actually hosting Christmas Day though so don't need a turkey etc.
