Basically I want to hire a Santa for our Christmas party. All the better if he rocks up with reindeer. Has anyone done this or am I alone here in my madness?

You have to provide a suitable space/facilities for reindeer. They are expensive and can only 'work' for a certain length of time. You can hire DBS checked santas. They get booked up in lead up to Christmas, obviously. It will cost a fair bit to do it properly.

We have the space for the reindeer. ThEy can be turned out into a paddock if that's what they need. Any tips for hiring a professional Santa?

Who is the party for?

Lots of parents don't like their children visiting santa other than in the way they do it in their family (whatever that may be)

The reindeer always seem very cruel.

Oh for heavens sake. My friends and family are not so uptight to be upset by Santa visiting a party. I don't see how the reindeer would be treated cruelty? They will hang out in a paddock and fed treats.

DDs 2 and 3 went to a Birthday party last December where Santa appeared. They went on a sleigh ride pulled by reindeer through the fields around the girls house. She was delighted! It had been snowing too which was lovely.

OP there are loads of companies who hire out santas. You're basically booking entertainment so have a Google and make sure you go for a reputable company.
