So can I brag that I’ve finished my Christmas shopping

Both kids have now been bought for and done

All I need to do is wrap it all...

I still cover the LOL house for dd but I know it’s a long shot as A) it’s hard to get hold of and B) it’s so expensive.

I’ve got her the pop up centre as a compromise.

You’re a right GF aren’t you.

All I’ve bought is a box of M&S shortbr3ad, a massive bar of dairy milk Oreo and some mini Toblerones.

I have a good bit of my kids stuff got, but haven't done a thing for extended family.

MrsMozart · 30/09/2018 19:01

Go away...

I only managed it due to the offer on at smyths. I think we managed to save around £200 on cheaper prices AND the £10 every £50 spent.

So I’m chuffed. This is the earliest I have ever managed it

But what if they change their mind?

Soubriquet · 30/09/2018 19:03

I have a good bit of my kids stuff got, but haven't done a thing for extended family.

I don’t buy my extended family. I did use to buy my little brother something (he’s 6 now) but last year my mum refused to come round so this year I’m not bothering. He won’t care about no gift from me. He sees me maybe twice a year if that

My dc are 3 and 5 so not much to change the mind to/from.

Ah ok makes sense if they’re very little

Bravo 👏🏼

Yourenotericlove · 30/09/2018 19:05

Why would that be a brag?

Phillipa12 · 30/09/2018 19:06

Stocking presents bought and wrapped, have made a start on buying the main presents. I know im sad but im a single mum and eldest has a birthday in November. I really like starting December not having to worry about having to buy presents and having the money to do fun Christmas stuff.

Aragog · 30/09/2018 19:07

Not even started. Never do this early. I have a few birthday presents to get in October/November. I start to look after October half term, and then buy from end of November.

Soubriquet · 30/09/2018 19:08

I usually do that Aragog but dh is on long term sick at the moment due to undiagnosed seizures. He’s undergoing medical tests and isn’t allowed to work until it’s been diagnosed. So we have needed to buy as early as we can

I bought excess wine the other week....it has already been drunk though Blush. Does that count?

fastfooder · 30/09/2018 19:09

I know what I’m getting everyone so I feel very prepared however I can’t go out and buy them all bc I have nowhere to hide them all.... I don’t bother buying food items till the week before or I would end up eating it all up and having to go out again.

Where have you stored it all????

Soubriquet · 30/09/2018 19:11

Draws under the bed, airing cupboard where the kids don’t go in and on top of wardrobes

DD is sorted, DC2 is due in Nov so won't be getting a great deal if anything, and everyone else I have lists for with specific items. I've never been so organised!

I have had to start this early to be able to afford it all though, due to mat leave etc. Wouldn't usually start so early (but only because it gets me prematurely excited and then it feels like FOREVER until it's proper crimbo)

ALemonyPea · 30/09/2018 19:17

I’ve only ever managed to finish in Sept/Oct once and that was in 2008 when I was pregnant with DC3.

Oblomov18 · 30/09/2018 19:19

Christ. I haven't even given it a thought.

CakeNinja · 30/09/2018 19:59

I don’t start until after my November dcs birthdays, so usually end of November or beginning of December.
I have a massive list of people to buy for so storing 40 peoples presents along with stuff for my own dc would be ridiculous for such a long time but good for you for being so organised!
I work in a school and the worst thing (okay, there’s a huge list of negatives despite living my job) is that we obviously aren’t allowed to book days off. Previously in other jobs I’ve just booked a day or two off for Christmas shopping, got it done and wrapped like a ninja and delivered to relevant households in 2 days. Now, with 3 dc and a full time job, not so much!
A friend and I spend one Saturday Christmas shopping and absolutely everything else is done online.

duckling84 · 30/09/2018 20:05

Feel free to brag.

I am almost done, just stockings left to do now. I have a spreadsheet of what I'm buying so can tick them off as I go along. It's lovely having it all sorted early, can then just sit back and enjoy the festive season without worrying about how much there is to do

FlaviaAlbia · 30/09/2018 20:10

Ah, my MIL used to tell me this evey couple of weeks from August onwards. She could never resist just buying another something so she finished her Christmas shopping more times than I could count Smile

Nice work Smile

Stellenbosch · 30/09/2018 20:15

Totally random - and no idea about the whole history - but your dh might consider doing a strict keto diet to see if it helps? Research show sit works for epilepsy and seizures. Good luck

And 😬 @ having Christmas shopping done! 😂😂😂
