Hi all
What are you all buying your teenagers this year?
I have 4 Ds19, DS18, DD17 and DS13
And am a bit stuck on ideas.
Only one I have anything for yet is DD as tickets for a band she likes went on sale last week

kankin (?) rucksack, theatre tickets,
Polaroid zip, young persons driving lesson, clothes, HP studio tour tickets, makeup, can’t think what else.
Mine are 13 and 14, the 14 year old has also asked for a new laptop but has a birthday before Christmas so will probably get one then.
They are both going on a school trip to Iceland after Christmas so they will possibly get some things they will need for that too.
Stockings tend to be a mixture of books, Lego blockheads, pop vinyl, makeup bits, slippers, face masks, small things that will get used and be enjoyed longer than 6 seconds!
I haven’t actually started any of the shopping yet Grin

I'm in the same boat OP, I have DSs 18 and 17 and the honestly don't need or want anything. Feel money is a bit of a cop out too as they will just put it in the bank plus they like stuff to open.

Neither that interested in clothes, DS1 at uni but living at home, he has all the tech he needs, DS1 likes his music but no-one that is a must see for him. he likes old school stuff and most are either dead, long time broken up or too old to tour. He got to go to see Roger Waters for his birthday. Last year for Christmas he still wanted a few computer parts and a screen. DS1 was all done with his PC so he got an early upgrade on his phone and some really nice headphones.

Both got driving lessons for their 17th and they have a car to share (well when DS2 passes his test they'll share). DS1 got mainly money for his 18th plus a nice watch.

People generally suggest experience gifts which is fine except when you live somewhere where there isn't much choice. You may be luckier.

Other smaller stuff we've bought:

Rifid wallets
Headphone stands
Razors
Books
Magazine subscription
Grooming kit (nail clippers etc)
Guitar straps/pics
Food and drink!
Bathrobes/slippers
Band t-shirts
Echo
Posters
Backpack
Front Door key with fancy keyring :)

Some brilliant ideas thank you.
The older two both work so can buy anything they want. Makes it hard!!

It's hard. I think mine still want to see the big pile on Christmas morning but here is really not a lot that they actually want Confused.

I usually wrap up a tray of Coke/pepsi though maybe one of cider might go down even better! I also give big bags of popcorn and tubes of pringles and other bags of snacks that they like.

I think I am going to get DS2 a shaving subscription since he got rid of the beard, he is very much a wet shaver. DS1 is happy with his electric one. DS2 might also like a fitbit.

I also got them nice leather belts last year. You get some good mouse mats for gaming? A nice travel mug? Got DS1 one of the Contigo ones for starting Uni as he is on the train every day. Thinking maybe a nice coffee machine for DH and the boys to share (I don't drink coffee).

Watching with interest as no idea at all here for 16 y/o dd. Was thinking of a really nice bag for college, but she's just bought herself one! She could really do with some new long sleeve t-shirts, so providing she doesn't get it together to go shopping in the next couple of months (very unlikely, she hates clothes shopping) I'll get her a couple of those, but it's not really much of a present esp as she theoretically has a clothes allowance that she never spends.

I think my best hit when dd was around 13/14 was a beanbag gamer chair from ebay, though it's a bit of a fight between dd and the cats as to who gets to sit on it Grin

Sadik · 30/09/2018 16:21

And a yes to Contigo travel mug - got dd one for her 16th (main present was theatre tickets so nothing to unwrap) and it gets used every day for bus to college.

Sadik · 30/09/2018 16:23

For any geeky teens, I got dd copies of 3 of these NASA posters last Christmas for her room and they were a big hit (lots of the poster places sell them, or you can download & get them printed yourself)

Thanks RiceCrispie22 for introducing me to the to the idea of illuminated Aparrel. Son and nephews stored in 1 place 😁

TruelyTruelyScrumptious · 30/09/2018 20:39

Just cash, that is best. Or ask them for a list and just buy from that. Don't try and guess or the money will just be wasted.

Sadik · 30/09/2018 20:49

I'm guessing you don't have a teenager who doesn't ever ask for anything and never spends money Truely... (but was nevertheless very happy to receive Hamilton tickets for her birthday!)
