Naice chocolates/snacks

What chocolates/snacks of the naice variety are you coveting for Christmas this year?

I'm vowing not to buy the normal boxes of cheap chocolates and to try to focus on smaller amounts of nicer stuff...

Lidl have their stollen bites in. Not luxe but enormously more-ish.

M and S version of quality street are in jewel like wrappings and look lovely in a naice bowl.

Ferrero Rocher
I agree about the mini stollen.

I really hope that Aldi do the chocolate orange mince pies again. They were delicious!

Every time I go to Tesco the boxes of Roses/Quality Street/Cadbury Heroes etc are calling me but I fear I’ll eat them all before Xmas if I buy them now!

Lily O’Brien do fabulous salted caramels.
And Aldi’s Florentines are just dangerous.

Chocolate Bath Olivers
Elizabeth Shaw chocolates
Benedick's mint crisps
Marzipan fruits

I'll be sticking to my 'no palm oil' rule which cuts out all the cheap crap and most other chocolate too Wink

Aldi and Lidl have the best chocolate and I agree about the mini stollen bites 1 packet isn't enough in a sitting.

My DCs are teenagers and my plan to get them off the XBox this year is to get them in the kitchen making delicious things to eat. Coincidentally my eldest has already been making a list of things he wants to make so it looks very positive. My waistline may take a battering but hey we'll add in some long walks to the pub Grin

Only 3 more pay days to go 🎄

Aldi and Lidl both do gorgeous iced liebkuchen I buy every year.

Hotel chocolat also usually do gorgeous christmas themed treats.

I am thinking of splashing out on some baggies of these this year:

As they do loads of fruit cream flavours (my favourite and sadly hard to get normally) and i’m tired of chocolates which taste of grit and oil. Haven’t tried them yet, I hasten to add, so any recommendations would be gratefully received!

I love Lidls stollen too.

I usually buy a bag (about €10 worth) if Leonidas orangettes to enjoy - my family loves those and it makes a reasonably large bowlful (or rather, a few small bowls over a few evenings). I’d rather do that than a big tin of chocs that aren’t nice for the same price.

Dd always wants the smoky bacon pringles that are only out at Christmas.

And I like some amaretto biscuits to nibble.

While DH likes a bag of those dried broad beans with spice on them, or else some wasabi peas - eaten similar to roasted peanuts. But different spices (I’d eats then beans but the peas are sooo hot!!)

There is a fabulous off licence that sells handmade chocolate in our nearest city. We go at the end of November and buy vintage port, a mixed case of wine and handmade chocolates. We eat the lot before Christmas and buy it all again before Christmas Blush

This chocolate is lovely

Niederegger marzipan chocolate but only the dark and only the plain marzipan. No new fangled flavours and no milk chocolate .
