DD has just had her birthday turned 2. She has got LOTS of stuff from us and family, megablox table, ice cream cart kitchen w/ accessories animals hoover and loads more so now I don’t know what to do about Christmas was going to get her loads of happy land but there will be no we’re for it !! So far have Happyland cottage and tree house and LuvaBella doll so will a baby highchair and a few small happyland bits do or is there anymore ‘small’ toys I could get for a 2 year old

I'd think what you have already is plenty for a 2 year old! I think I'll get mine a doll this year and I'll replace some of her favourite books that she's ripped eaten. Blush

Something for the garden? I.e. Wendy house, swing, slide or climbing frame.
Or a scooter, trike, balance bike or training bike?
Lots of arty things
Audio books for car journeys and bed times.

Simple jigsaws
Kids umbrella and wellies
Play-doh
Hooded towels and new swimming costume
Peppa Pig playsets
Ball

Would buying her a bed for Christmas be awful? Blush I'm guessing she will need a bed by them she's still in a cot at the min

Christmasy stuff that will soon get used up (so doesn't take up space) - stickers, Christmas colouring book, Christmas themed bubble bath. That sort of thing.

Backhometothenorth · 08/09/2018 21:15

Mini micro scooter and Wendy house

bookmum08 · 08/09/2018 21:16

And I wouldn't get LuvaBella. She is the ugliest doll in the world. At age 2 a soft body baby doll with clothes to take on and off is better.

MJandKB · 08/09/2018 21:25

We already have the LuvaBella she loves to feed her baby's so that's why we got it plus it was cheap because my mum got 2 and there was an offer on Grin I'm going to google the micro scooter... thanks

DS is 2 in September and I didn’t think we were doing ‘gendered’ toys but looking at your list it’s so different we clearly are! He is getting more Brio trains and track for his birthday plus some more duplo, puzzles, books, a top I know he’ll like, a huge collection of plastic dinosaurs and a balance bike - not all from us! His Christmas list so far has an easel and I need to add a toy buggy - he has a doll box t never plays with it at the moment, he also already has a kitchen and good, an arc and animals, a scuttlebug and more books, blocks, duplo and puzzles than any child needs!
Looking at your list I suspect he’d enjoy a hoover and happy land stuff too - I need to get over my dislike of plastic and noisy toys!

MJandKB · 08/09/2018 22:10

@DrWhy the hoover we got our DD drives me
Insane! Might get her a scuttle big to replace the sit on train thing she got for her first birthday she likes sitting on that but it's so long she can't move it! I feel like my living room looks like a toy shop and had to put some stuff in her room!! The problem is we buy things and then family on my side ask a week before what she would like and family on DH's side but what they want for example the huge £50 ice cream cart because she loves the word ice cream! (Very grateful they love her enough to do that though)

Not to mention we are going to centre Parcs at the beginning of December so that's a present all within its self ConfusedConfused

I'm glad to hear she loves her LuvaBella but personally everytime I see one my reaction is "arrrrrrrgh"! 😀

someonekillbabyshark · 08/09/2018 22:20

@bookmum08 yeah they are pretty ugly compared to the baby I had as a child Grin

hodgeheg92 · 09/09/2018 07:48

I don't think it's bad for you to get her a bed for Christmas, from the sounds of it family will buy her enough toys!! You could get her a duvet set with something that she loves on it so she's got something to open that she'll love?

AJPTaylor · 09/09/2018 07:58

Can you put her in a different room on xmas eve? Put bed in with xmas duvet, maybe an xmas bear and doo one of those door wrap things?
Or buy her a shed for all her stuff!

PatchworkElmer · 09/09/2018 08:04

DS is nearly 2, and his main Christmas present is going to be a ride on a local steam railway to see Father Christmas.

someonekillbabyshark · 09/09/2018 12:11

@AJPTaylor Lmao that made me giggle

wheezing · 10/09/2018 11:45

I think the high chair and a few happy land bits sounds plenty. Add a couple of new books and it’s a decent pile. Loads of presents aren’t needed at 2 and I think the more you get the less they play with them anyway.
I would look into a micro scooter though because you’re probably going to want one for a few years anyway. It’s also a nice new thing to play with on Christmas Day and probably has more life in it (until 5) then happy land and random plastic stuff while she’ll probably be over in a year anyway.
