Charm bracelet for teenager

Would like to get a charm bracelet for 13year old Dd that would hopefully be kept for many years and added to.
When I was at school links of London and Tiffany were the ‘in’ thing. I still have mine I got for my 13th. These are now way out of budget and probably out of fashion too.
I’m looking at Thomas sabo or Pandora. Does anyone have any idea of these are seen as ‘cool’ amongst teenagers, or any other ideas? I don’t want to ask her as it’s a surprise.
Thanks

My 18 yr old had a Pandora bracelet for her 13th, and gets a new charm every Xmas or birthday.

Quality is fantastic, there are so many charms to choose from, she doesn't wear it daily, but when she is going out etc, as it is fairly heavy now with 12 charms on it!

Dd2 has asked for one for her birthday (will be 11), and I think I will get it.
I'm not sure if they are still as "in" as they used to be with teens, but they do make a lovely, pretty affordable, keepsake gift that can be added to year after year.

Thank you. I’ve just been looking and there is such a massive range of charms that it seems a good idea. I’m a bit unsure what size I would get as obviously she is still growing, and also once there’s more charms on it it would get tighter I guess?
I’ll probably go in the shop and talk to someone there.

For my graduation from university I asked for a traditional charm bracelet and I love it. Its not designed to wear as a piece of jewellery necessarily but its a memory piece for me. Each charm has a memory or meaning behind it. Im 30 now and I still love getting the charms for it.

Pandora charm bracelets are still common with my friends and the girls in my guiding group

Do any of her friends have one? Fashion &teen likes are dependant on what everyone else has so are they popular with teens in your area? Would you be happy to spend on a bracelet and charms that will end up in a drawer in several months if none of her friends have something similar? The only people I see wearing pandora charms these days are older (40+) ladies TBH. Maybe it depends on area but they are seen as old fashioned and constantly listed for sale on eBay and FB sale pages near me.
Maybe ask around her friends mums to see if they are popular for her age range in your area first.

I have no idea if others wear them round here. I’m thinking it will be more of a keepsake than an every day thing. I’m torn between a traditional one and pandora. I just know she would love some of the pandora charms I’ve seen.

I would get her one one of the leather pandora ones with a stopper and a charm as a starter.

Pandora are lovely and do lots of charms that are specific to occasions etc, also they often have sales so you can get charms for really good prices (sometimes half price) and save them to give as gifts when birthdays/Christmases/achievements come round

My dd (almost 16) loves pandora, she has a few rings from there and I’m getting her a bracelet for her birthday. Really popular here with her friends too, and dd2s friends actually (12)

Alex monroe has just launched a jewellery range for children that includes charm bracelets in gold or silver - have a look at Liberty website. Molly Brown London also has some really pretty bracelets. No idea how ‘cool’ they are to a teenager though!

We got our son an El Camino bracelet which he can add countries, regions, special places to. He travels a lot and he loves it. Each charm/ bead has a memory/memories attached to it. It’s also a good conversation filler as people often ask him about it.

I bought my daughter a traditional one from Goldsmiths for my wedding and buy her a new charm for occasions, not Christmas and birthdays but things like finishing primary school, getting a dog, (and another dog..!)
I find charm works are brilliant for cheap charms if there is something I am struggling with to find a 'connection' but then I also mix it up with some more expensive ones, like a jersey pearl after a trip there.
It's a memory piece so the cost isn't relevant, but this would rule out something like a tiffanys which would possibly be tarnished with a £7 guinea pig charm!!!!

The El Calmino one is great! Sorry to lurk I’m going to order one of those for my Daughter for Christmas.

Have you looked at nominations.
We got DD one when she was made prefect in primary 7. She's 18 now and still wearss it most days

I bought a pandora today. Was tempted to get Thomas Sabo, and of the shopping centre I was in had one I probably would have. But once I was in pandora I was persuaded.

i don't know if they are 'cool' or not but i bought one recently for a friend's daughter and was pleasantly surprised at how pretty they are and the charms (in the sale) are affordable too. they come beautifully presented in a box on a black velvet cushion with a nice gift bag.
