What are your Christmas routines with your children? How old are they?

My baby is going to be 21 months this year - just looking for a routine that makes Christmas magical with a toddler!

AlanMackree I got a little teary eyed reading your post. What a lovely holiday you describe. Lucky kids. I especially love the kicking off about the naughty reindeer.

BiddyPop wonderous list. I shall surely be stealing things from it this year to add to ours.

I find if we are not really intentional time can just pass us by. This year I am scheming to close the office for a whole week - essentially that gives us 11 days off in a row - unheard of here in TrumpVille. I will be able to actually enjoy planning and doing, instead of just do it like an endurance race. Can't wait. Am watching for all of your lovely ideas.

Got this idea from this site a few years ago.

We have a Santa runway. We had moved and I told the kids it was to help Santa find us. Saved up loads of jam jars and we decorated them with glitter and ribbons, put tea lights inside and on Christmas Eve before bed, we lay them out in a runway formation on the patio or grass and light all the candles. It looks lovely in the dark and feels really Christmassy. Saved the jars so I can just get them out every year. The tall ones (Mayonnaise jars) are best as the wind doesn't blow out the candles as easily.
