Legoland at Christmas (time slot)

Can anyone recommend the best time slot to book to see Father Christmas? Not sure whether to book it first to get it out of the way Grin or later so it's dark when we go to see him.

Not Legoland, but we've done Thomasland (Drayton Manor) the last few years and I've always booked an early slot as then we can spend the rest of the day focussing on the rides without having to keep an eye on the clock, and also I'd seen on TripAdvisor that queues really build up later (even with the times slots). Not sure if that's helpful! I'm sure others who've actually been will be able to offer advice.

Thank you. I suppose that way you're not left hanging around until the time slot with grumpy/tired/over excited dc Grin

It's quite nice to go after dark because the area is all lit up with fairy lights etc. Difficult to tell what the queues are like, as the line is largely hidden from view, but I'm sure we got a time slot for seeing Santa and were not permitted to join the queue more than about 15 mins beforehand, so all quite well managed, iirc.

When we went last year, it was all very efficient but one of the elves did mention that the previous day people had had to wait 3 hours to see Santa despite the allocated time slots. I have no idea how they managed to get it so wrong!
We got there when it opened last year and, to be honest, the DC we're getting quite bored when we went to see Santa around 2.30. There aren't that many rides open (and none of the big rides) and there just weren't any queues. The queues did build up during the day but we had done everything at least once by then! If we'd eaten in a restaurant then that would have passed a bit of time but, as the temperature was only a couple of degrees colder than today, we took a picnic and ate it on a bench!

Ok thanks! Think we might book an early slot then... we're going with friends who will have a 3 year old with them so we don't want anyone getting bored.

We like waiting until dark because the fairy lights are magical.

With young DC I’d say book and early slot. We go every year. We normally book in the morning, then have the rest of the day to walk around go on the rides and get our free hot drinks and cookies.

Thanks. I think we will go for a morning slot. Nothing worse than grouchy children Grin
