Good present planning app kids can’t open!

I’m looking for a (free) present app that I can keep track of presents for 4 dc (ideas, Actual purchased and price). They are 11, 10, 8 and 6 and oldest are getting into the habit of grabbing my phone and looking around Hmm

I just want something that’s password protected. Previously I’ve used notes and they’ve discovered it, couldn’t manage to use password on it. Any suggestions?

A notebook, kept away from the kids! Jeez can't people do anything without an app now?!?

imip · 25/08/2018 19:07

No, would probably lose the notebook. Just asking a question, not for critical judgement!

Is it an iphone?
I went into app store and searched secret notes and there's quite a few password protected note apps

Or just change the password on your phone so they can't get into it

Mines called ‘gift list’ I just searched App Store and got one that’s passworded/finger print

AlwaysPottering · 25/08/2018 22:14

I have one called Notepad it has a passcode or password

rainingcatsanddog · 25/08/2018 22:15

Put a passcode on your phone.

I have a similar issue OP
I’m using notes too, with the title “toilet cleaning” in a folder called “house keeping”. Grin I haven’t been rumbled yet.
Don’t forget to browse and shop for gifts in the private settings or the ads will follow you around which is disasterous when you have dc playing on the phone.
I might look for secret notes. I need something with a discreet name as well as a password. “Gift list” would only pique their curiosity.

Ha ha ‘house keeping’ sounds good! Can’t just use a password as older dc don’t have their own phone (10 and 11) so can use mine to contact friends. Two dc also have ASD, so sometimes I need phone quickly to placate escalating situations - they know the passcode. Funnily enough, for years they have been stumped by the Netflix and prime code, which is the same as the first 4 numbers of my phone passcode Grin suggestions much appreciated!

I use gift list too - the picture is a red present. It's password protected and keeps track of last year's presents!

trancepants · 26/08/2018 13:18

I keep my list on a draft email. That way I can access it from anywhere.

lorisparkle · 26/08/2018 13:27

I have an app called ‘manage Christmas’ I used it last year and it was fairly easy. It is password protected and has ideas, budget, bought, wrapped, sent etc as options.

I use the notes app on my iPhone and put a passcode on that particular note just in case. The top line always says 'Work dates' just in case!
