Hamper for sporty 12yo dd

I'm planning this year on giving each of the dc a hamper as one of their christmas present, each themed around some sort of activity to keep them occupied on boxing day (hopefully).

However, I'm completely stuck on what to get 12yo dd4.

She's very sporty and energetic but doesn't like to sit still for long so crafts and pamper night ones aren't really suited.

I'll attach a photo of the lists I have for some of her siblings

@LittleYellowLifejacket you've got your DCs names on that list. You might want to remove that.

LittleYellowLifejacket · 20/08/2018 12:54

I realised and I don't mind but thank you for letting me know

New swimming costume, goggles, personalised towel, in a new sports bag? Personalised water bottle? Trainer socks? Hoody?

CountFosco · 20/08/2018 12:57

What sports does she do? You could get some bits of sports equipment, e.g. for a swimmer new googles/microfibre towel/swimcap/chlorine removing shampoo or for a footballer football socks/shin pads/thermal underwear.

What about a book associated with her favourite sport? Or a DVD about her favourite team. A voucher to try out a new sport? Snacks for when she's practicing?

CarrotVan · 20/08/2018 13:03

How much do you want to spend? Any particular sport?

Yoga mat
1kg hand weights
Sports bottle
High protein snacks
Weighted skipping rope
Microfibre sports towel
Shower gel
Sports socks
Sweat bands
Fitbit
Positive message wristbands (loads on Amazon)
iTunes gift card (or similar)
Book about a hero sports person

BikeRunSki · 20/08/2018 13:06

Does she swim? Underwater MP3 player? Might be a bit pricey - upwards of about £40 on Amazon.

Prescription goggles - if swimmer with bad eyesight!!

LittleYellowLifejacket · 20/08/2018 13:07

I'd ideally like it to be things she can use on boxing day in the house or garden.

She finds it difficult to concentrate on books for long but a dvd is a good idea.

She does gymnastics, swimming, hockey, horse riding and sailing but I'm not necessarily looking for things directly related to sports she already does.

An underwater mp3 player is a great idea

Those armband lights for running in winter?
New beany
Fancy hockey ball (they have flashy coloured ones)
New mouth guard
Goggles
Compass
New water bottle (they get left at pitches all over...)
Running tights/leggings
Small puzzle book?
Little Lego set
Hot chocolate and a new mug?
Graze bars/boxes
Energy balls

Twistella · 20/08/2018 13:18

Go pro

Sorry I don't really get hampers! Just spend the money on a decent bit of kit - really good riding boots, a race suit

Twistella · 20/08/2018 13:21

Sorry pressed send too soon

My very sporty dd spent boxing day morning riding then played Steep (skiing game on the ps4) all afternoon!

A pop up goal and football
A go pro

These would all be 'proper presents' here though

sleepismysuperpower · 02/09/2018 19:05

maybe a new leotard or hand grips? you can get personalised ones off etsy.

energy bars

water bottle (again, off etsy)

voucher maybe? or perhaps tickets to local riding show/ something like that

good horse riding gloves

gigglingHyena · 03/09/2018 06:17

How about some Circus skills bits, lots of options and there are loads of YouTube videos showing how to use them. Flame n games seem to do reasonably priced decent stuff.

Alanamackree · 03/09/2018 07:13

Fun gifts for an active 12 year old

Juggling balls
Ribbon on a stick (like rhythmic gymnasts use)
Moon ball
Waboba Ball
Wacky socks that look funky and grip foot to stay in place
Stilts
Cheap Fitbit style tracker
Cheap go pro type camera
Bluetooth ear phones
Football gloves
Wooden catch toy
Water bottle filled with sweets
skip a long

Dd got a book of knots and some rope (and her DGPs happened to buy her a “knots game” set for 2 people as well!) last year, which kept her pretty occupied getting the basics right and learning some fun new ones. Good for the sailing and also if she gets into climbing or camping.

A mat and an illustrated book on yoga or Pilates? Good for core for most of those sports.

Skipping rope- good for agility and aerobic fitness as well as fun.

Yay to extra gloves for various needs.

Own boat or charter through club? If own, some spare parts or any extras (a water bottle carrier, a bag that ties onto toes straps for snacks, toppers have a small bag that go into the mast well). If charter, maybe just a water bottle carrier that can easily Velcro onto toestraps (and off again at the end of a session). Rolls of tape will always (!!!!!) be useful! (DD got boots and a carbon tiller extension last year as part of her presents - DH is soft!)

Goggles, microfiber towels, hat, bag for wet gear.

Grooming brush?
Spare gym shoes?
Microfiber towels probably very useful in general with all those sports - a nicely colored one could be good to identify her own (Decathlon had some patterned ones at an event recently but I don’t know if they have those in store ).

LaPufalina · 04/09/2018 09:05

I'd head to decathlon for inspiration!

shouldwestayorshouldwego · 04/09/2018 22:24

Slackline or balance board to build core stability?

LeMesmer · 05/09/2018 01:26

I have an underwater MP3 player and it’s great, but if she swims in a club rather than on her own she may not use it. A pair of really good goggles and a bit more expensive sporty costume may be better. Hockey stick and boots, if she doesn’t have them. Decathlon really is good to lol around and find some ideas.

It won’t keep her occupied on Boxing Day but a course she could do in s sport she hasn’t tried, with maybe a small related gift.

TheClitterati · 05/09/2018 01:42

My dd's have been asking me for stacking cups - apparently it is a new thing. Fun for a hamper and indoors but competitive.
