Are Wonderbly books good?

Perusing the site after seeing another Instagram ad for it. Some of them look pretty cool! If your kids have them, do they like the books long term or is it just a novel ‘ooh it has my name in’ one-time read?
If they have good reviews then that’s some xmas presents sorted 😄

Lost my name isnt exactly ds' favourite but I think he might be more interested when he starts school.

I find lost my name goes down very well with parents. They are nice quality and I really like how they look.

I've heard lots of people talk about liking them, but my kids weren't keen. Novelty with no real story.

We've not got the Wonderbly ones, but what we do have is the 'Santa's Coming to...' books (one for where we live / DH is from and one for where I'm from). As the DC have got older they're excited to read them as they recognise the places mentioned. They're also a fair bit cheaper than Wonderbly. Xmas Smile

Can I know where to buy the 'Santa's coming to...' books? Looking for one for my nephew for Christmas. Depends on which age group that you are talking about, but the personalisation there is always quite good for younger kids but the older ones.

I have five books on my bookshelf and they look great as decorations after the kids are finished with them too. Did a fair bit of research, so, there is Amazing Fables (their dino book is good), Dinkleboo, MyMagicName, Ohmynamet and a few more besides Wonderbly. Quality varies, so it really depends on your kid's preference.

Moshi monster also has a hit with Petlandia where you can customise the book for your pet.

I was disappointed by the standard of writing in the wonderbly. The rhymes were not great and the story just “meh”. Sorry.

Those Santa comes to...books were in our Dobbies last year.

I got the “lost my name” books for my kids last Christmas aged 4&6. I liked them but the kids aren’t bothered at all. I bought one for a friend’s 2 year old and apparently she loved it, so perhaps it works better with younger children

Interesting to hear everyone's responses. I was going to buy one for DNeice but will have a re-think!

My son loves his wonderbly books. He took his Lost My Name one into school for show and tell!

I bought him the Golden Ticket one for his 10th birthday and he adores it. I bought a willy wonka style chocolate bar wrapper on eBay (personalised) and gave it with the book and he thought that was the best thing ever. Xmas Grin

Hi I have just ordered a personalised book off Wonderbly. They make lovely gifts. I thought I would share my refer a friend code where you will receive £5 off your first order:

The pictures are nice and it's a sweet idea, but I have to agree the standard of writing lets them down. Some of the rhymes are pretty dire!
