I've been but just after Christmas. We arrived the day after Boxing Day. It was a fair while ago (15 years Shock) but as I remember it was very beautiful and very cold. It "snowed" during the parades (bubble foam I think) and the decorations were amazing.

There's a group on Facebook I think it's called daniel potters Disney or something like that. They will be able to help you there.

Before Xmas is apparently not too bad crowd wise but after Xmas, very busy

Yes, several times. Try to go a little before Christmas (if you're not constrained by term time then a couple of weeks before is good) as it gets extremely busy. It's gorgeous at Christmas though - would recommend!

We went at the end of November last year. It was amazing. It gets dark around 5, and all the fairy lights are on, there's a huge tree, and it 'snows' bubbles down Main Street!

The characters are all wearing Christmas outfits, even for meet and greet, and the parade is Christmas themed with the big man himself in a sleigh at the end. Some of the rides get a Christmas makeover as well. DS was 2.5 and enjoyed it but was a bit bemused. I loved it!

And it wasn't too cold or busy at the end of November, either, which was a big consideration for me.

There's a whole forum on TripAdvisor dedicated to DLP, lots of tips on there, or you're welcome to PM me.

We went early March one year and it was 4 degrees. Seriously spoiled the enjoyment. I wouldn't even consider Christmas for that reason alone

We went in very early New Year (1-4th Jan) It was absolutely gorgeous. Freezing, but sparkly, and absolutely empty. We walked onto every ride - averaged 14 rides a day. Got best views of all the parades and front row seats to all the ice shows. If your DC don't mind the cold (mine didn;t even notice it, they were so excited, then I'd go then. Christmas might be a bit busier.

We were there last year (20th-23rd December) doing the same this year. We found it quite quiet until the Saturday when we left which we found noticeably busier.
We stayed on site and made use of extra magic hours, any questions just ask Smile

We went last year, 14th to 19th. It was magical (of course!) Didn't find the crowds too bad except over the weekend which is noticeably busier. It was very very cold, rained a bit too. I did research before going so we wrapped up against the weather and I'm so glad I did. You are in it alllll day so be prepared. The queues weren't too bad either. We did every ride and most character meets. Everyone is Christmas themed, as is the parade. Queuing at the princess pavilion and to see the big man was bonkers (but I've heard that is quite normal) so we didn't bother with those two.
We stayed at Davy Crockett Ranch and used parking pass and extra magic hours.

We went the week before Christmas, 3 years ago, and were so disappointed. Obviously we expected the cold, and the pretend snow was pretty, but as a place, I'd not go back. I've been to Florida a few times, and it's so, so much better that I maybe set my expectations too high, but the parade was over in 5 minutes, there was a 6 hour wait to see the Frozen princesses, and there weren't any characters wandering around like in the US. The saving grace was the lunch with the Princesses. That was wonderful :-)
