Traveling to visit different family members, then on day 3 going to in-laws where there will be a big family meal where we all take food.
What pudding can I take that will last 2 days in a boot of a car and still look/taste ok??
Thank you wise Christmassy mumsnetters!

I’d do nigella’s chocolate gingerbread cake and serve it with ready made custard heated up by the host.

Does it need to be homemade? I'd just take Christmas puddings (and maybe chocolate ones if people don't like traditional) and ask if they could provide cream/pick up cream on the day

Can you not give them the money to buy something and keep it in their fridge until you get there? I wouldn’t want to eat food that had been sitting in the boot of someone’s car for theee days.

If shops are open on the days visiting I’d just go to the supermarket on the way to each and pick something up.

Tins of pears, jars or bottles of chocolate sauce, when you get there assemble pear Belle Hellene.

Tins of luxury rice pudding, tins of peaches, sheets of edible gold leaf, when you get there, rice into a bowl, garnish with peaches and gold, serve with Bellinis.

Usually everyone brings home made. Thanks for suggestions so far.

Yule log?

Pavlova base home made and well packaged, then buy cream on the day and whip in situ. Tinned fruit for the topping, along with based up choc bars?
