What do you eat NYE?
We were thinking a take away but dunno if I trust them to deliver great on NYE as I've been let down in the past.

We have a cheese fondue and dip potato wedges, dough balls, prosciutto ham, veggies etc... In the past I've made a boozy one for the grown ups and a milder one for kids.

Well new year is h’s Christmas. All to do with the past and a dictator. So it is a family celebration. I will be at sil’s with lots of other people. Usually it is turkey but served with salads, cheese, pickles and potato. There is usually rice and lamb at some point. I basically don’t eat until we go there. Pudding is a special cake which is yummy - lots of honey and nuts. We bring the traditional new year present of clothes for the children. I made a point of saying I never expect a present for the children at this time of year but if they did it is new year only. Children are happy after all it is like two christmas’s! Oh and there is always a programme on which reminds me of the variety performance - sil has Albanian satellite.

Big curry takeaway, lots of dishes, everyone share. We love it. Then beer.

As it's a Sunday this year we'll just have a normal Sunday lunch then nibbles throughout the evening. We've got some chicken bites, mini cheese souffles, cheesy jalapenos, mini filled potato skins, quiche, mini spring rolls and I'll probably get a dip and some doritos as well.

We always get a Chinese take away every NYE.

We're staying at home and having wanky posh artisan cheese, chutney, deli meats & antipasti with champers. Really really really looking forward to it.

Usually, it's us and a couple from next door so I do a homemade curry - yummy!

Steak pie with puff pasty, duck fat tatties and veg. Steak pie seems to be the tradition in
Scotland

I did lots of tapas dishes last year which went down well. We grazed through the evening and ended up having some of the dishes next day. A mix of cold things that could be pre-prepared and hot dishes like garlic prawns and chorizo.

It'll just be me and DH on NYE (Well the DC too but they'll be in bed by 7pm). We're planning on roast beef with a port and Stilton gravy.
