Presents for the most ungrateful people ever....help?

I’ve got to get my brothers Christmas presents. And I’m stuck.
They are the most ungrateful, entitled people I’ve ever met. They only buy themselves top designer stuff and would turn their nose up at anything high street.
I actually really don’t particularly want to get them anything, knowing they’ll just toss it aside whatever it may be, however I do have to.

Please could I have any ideas of gifts that don’t cost the earth but could be suitable for utter brand snobs?

Glitter.

A lot of glitter.

Make sure when you wrap it the container is open Grin

a book on manners

PurplePillowCase · 16/12/2017 17:06

a prickly cactus in a bowl?

Gin from a trendy but niche brand
Fortnum & Masons chocs/hamper
Champagne
Candle from eg Diptyque
Paul Smith socks/Designer brand socks

Assumed a budget of £20-£40 here. How much do you plan to spend? You could do Charbonnel chocs for £15.

As others have said, a charity gift, and a good bottle of wine or other booze.

I have a sibling like this, we don't buy for each other anymore. My mum always wraps goods up enclosing the receipt and paying for the items in cash !!!

traviata · 16/12/2017 22:42

yes, booze.

How old are they and what's your budget?

LaughingLlama · 16/12/2017 22:54

Make a donation to a charity on their behalf or get them an Oxfam goat/cow or whatever.

A bottle of fairy washing up liquid. That is as far as my brand snobbery goes. Grin
Failing that i would get a plant. Small bonsai tree

ErnestTheBavarian · 16/12/2017 23:03

If you think they will be ungrateful regardless, but still want to get them something, then just do minimum effort. Don't waste a moment effort or thought on it. Bung a couple of bottles in the trolley while you're shopping, sorted.

goose1964 · 16/12/2017 23:43

A bottle of ViPoo? After all their as says they make ideal presentsXmas Grin

TractorTedTed · 16/12/2017 23:46

What sort of things do they buy you? Could you buy them something in a similar vein?

Lollipop30 · 17/12/2017 01:38

Some of these are fab 😂😂

Mid twenties and no idea of budget really. I’m tempted to say a fiver as I can think of plenty of others I’d like to spend money on.

One of those adult lady bird books? I wouldn’t give It too much thought though if they’re going to be ungrateful whatever you do.

annandale · 17/12/2017 06:39

Definitely books. How about The Sellout (last year's Booker winner) and Bletchley Park Brainteasers.

FreshHorizons · 17/12/2017 06:43

I would suggest not buying presents for adults any more- it makes life simpler.
Failing that - most definitely a book each.
