I'm really excited to get a sewing machine. I've wanted one for years!

And I can't wait to give my mum a family album she was given when I was born but never managed to fill out, so I've filled it in and will surprise her with it

That album sounds lovely!

rogl · 14/12/2017 09:08

Thanks taff, she really won't be expecting it but there's over 30 years of memories to put in it now

I can’t think of a better present!

I’ve ordered some nice personalised notebooks for SILs I hope they like, they are quite hard to buy for.

Yeah same with my Mum and dad, if they want something they just buy it. Very annoying!
I like the sounds of personalised note books, my sister would probably love that

Some of these are birthday too as two birthdays at Christmas too!

Ds (11) iPhone and signed football
Dd (7) lol ball
Dh photobook of last 17 years together and a handmade chest of drawers for his hobby

My DD has a birthday not long after Christmas. We always go out with the family and I like to buy her something really special. I hated it when she was little and my family would wrap up birthday presents in Christmas paper and just give them to her with her Christmas things. This year it is an Alpaca travel wrap as she is going to the Far East. I want Christmas to be over so that I can give it to her.

I love all of the personal gifts, it makes such a change from the generic gift sets.

I hope your dad has a lovely birthday and enjoys travelling, my sisters birthday is close to Christmas and she would always get 'joint ' gifts. Not nice for a child

I've got my DD (age 12) tickets to see Taylor Swift - she thinks I couldn't get them when they went on sale.
Last night she was looking at ticket resale sites trying to work out how many years of pocket money it would take her to buy the tickets form viagogo - sh is going to be over the moon when she opens it on Christmas day, I've printed off the ticket confirmation & wrapped it in a Taylor Swift t shirt

snowinhell my dd’s Birthday is just after Christmas too, and people (naming no names) get her a one big “joint” present for both, then compensate my ds by buying him loads for Christmas! So dd has nothing to open Christmas Day from them while ds has lots because she’s getting something big she doesn’t know about days later. So stressful trying to fight it. Just a small thing for each occasion! And it’s all in Christmas wrapping. It shouldn’t be that hard.

I’m most looking forward to giving dh his Paperwhite Kindle - we don’t always go big but his broke and he has been bereft recently. He might have an inkling I’m replacing it, but doesn’t suspect I’d get him the upgrade.

Ds - probably all of it, he’ll be so pleased with everything I think. But especially the Nerf shooter cars thing - he loves Nerf stuff and I’ve always said no and he doesn’t even know this is a thing to ask for so should be a nice surprise.

Dd - Our Generation doll I think. She’s seen them on tv a lot and will be mesmerised in real life.

For birthday baby doll and bath as she’s only had a soft bodied one up until now and this one is bigger.

Not sure about receiving, my dh usually does ok at Christmas so looking forward to whatever!

All very lovely, so much thought put in as well. I would love to see everyone's face on Christmas Day when they open the presents!
