AliceDMumsnet · 13/12/2017 16:53

Hello all,

Virgin Wines are offering Mumsnetters a crate of 12 bottles of wine - plus a free bottle of prosecco worth £10.99 and free delivery - for £59.88 (was £119.88).

You can order your Christmas selection here.

NB: This offer includes a no-obligation membership to WineBank

Quick reminder of how this works: we've selected these deals independently by scouring the web for bargains that we think MNers will love. We do, though, get a small referral % if you happen to buy through these links.

I ordered some on Friday (through an online offer) and it was delivered on Tuesday.

BitOutOfPractice · 15/12/2017 11:58

That is very annoying. Mine said the same.

I notice they don't tell you it'll be late until after you've ordered Hmm

And one of the big selling points on their web site was "free next day delivery"

It's a shame really isn't it? It makes MN look like idiots too even though it's not their fault but since they were the ones keen for us to take up this offer, it's a bit off

Fekko · 15/12/2017 12:08

Luckily it was being delivered somewhere where there are places to leave it and it wasn't for a specific date. If I'd needed it for me I'd be really annoyed as I'd need to be home for delivery.

MachineBee · 15/12/2017 13:28

I’ve just ordered mine from Virgin. Always had lovely wine from them. This offer is a real treat and helps to make the Xmas budget stretch a bit further.

CharlotteBMumsnet · 15/12/2017 15:11

Hi folks,

Sorry for some of the delivery issues you've been having and thanks for flagging, Virign Wines have provided us with the below statement.

"We apologise to any Mumsnet users who have not yet received their wine. Due to the extremely high volume of orders we are handling at the moment, some orders may take a day or two longer to arrive than usual. However, please rest assured everything will be delivered before Christmas and we are working closely with our couriers to get your wine to you as quickly as possible."

If anyone would like to speak to customer services regarding their order you can call 0343 224 1001 or email [email protected].

VinoEsmeralda · 15/12/2017 16:27

Ordered Wednesday and it arrived today a requested. Looks good not tried any yet😜

BitOutOfPractice · 15/12/2017 16:30

@CharlotteBMumsnet

It's all very well saying that message but that's after done of is have ordered. Bearing in mind that all over the offer it was saying FREE next day delivery.

And I have emailed customer services. No reply.

CharlotteBMumsnet · 15/12/2017 16:56

Hi @BitOutofPractice, apologies for the inconvenience. If you'd like, DM me your details I will pass them on to Virgin Wines and one of their team will get in touch.

PurpleAlerts · 15/12/2017 20:58

We have been members of Virgin wine for years. Never had a bad bottle. Usually border a few boxes in time for Christmas.

Am I eligible for this deal if I am already a member?

MachineBee · 15/12/2017 23:25

I’m a member and my order was accepted.

BitOutOfPractice · 16/12/2017 11:06

Thanks @CharlotteBMumsnet.

FWIW still no sign of either wine or email

Bet you're wishing you'd not posted this offer now!

BitOutOfPractice · 17/12/2017 05:41

I have eventually had an email back (48 hours) to say it'll be Tuesday before my order arrives. That's 6 days after ordering. Not the "next day" I was promised all the way through the order process.

I have to say MN that I would be wary, in future, of associating your brand with poor service like this. I'd go as far as to say I think virgin wines is making false claims in this offer.

So if you need wine in a hurry, don't order here!

PurpleAlerts · 17/12/2017 07:59

We already have a wine bank account and it won't let us order.

MachineBee · 18/12/2017 15:33

Wine has arrived. Wonderful selection. Not a Chardonnay in sight! NB The prosecco replaced one of the reds, but I’m a white wine drinker so I don’t care. Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 18/12/2017 15:38

Mine has arrived too. Rather sooner than the Wednesday promised. Worth complaining I reckon!

DuncanDonut · 18/12/2017 21:58

Mine arrived today as well, and the Sauv Blanc I've opened is nice enough.
Poor postie had to be really careful with the box, as the bottom wasn't sealed properly - nearly had the whole lot smashed on the garden path!

Leviticus · 19/12/2017 18:55

How do you cancel the wine bank subscription. I've just had the email saying it'll be £25 a month - first I'd bloody heard of it.

And needless to say I didn't get free next day delivery either (still waiting).

I should have known this wouldn't be as good as it sounded. Mumsnet you really needed to have been clearer about what this offer was.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/12/2017 22:26

Same here!

IndianaMoleWoman · 22/12/2017 13:23

Anyone else still not received their order? I ordered on Sunday and am now anticipating being that person banging on the supermarket doors at closing time on Christmas Eve, desperately begging for wine!

Leviticus · 22/12/2017 16:54

I ordered Saturday and received it weds. Ring them up.
