Cheap stocking fillers - adults

I have just finished my Christmas shopping and have presents all ready but have now been told we're also doing stocking as well! I only have to do it for the friend whose coming to Christmas day however I am at loss of what to put in. Also I have just been made redundant so it needs to be small and cheap.

So I have a friend (girl 30s) to buy for
I have added
Napkins we can use for the day
A small cat toy for her cat
Cat socks
An emoji toy thing from Tesco
Chocolate coins

Any other ideas - It looks a little empty :(

A magazine?

In our stockings we do:

Toiletries - shower gel/bath bomb/beard kits etc
Chocolate
Little daft toy (christmas Lego/yo yo etc)
Favourite sweet
Socks
Something funny to wear on Christmas (head band/tie etc/T-shirt)
Hot chocolate powder
Cheap Christmas DVD
Occasionally there will be a can of beer/drink in there to kick start Christmas.

We open our stockings on X'mas Eve. Sort of adult Christmas Eve box type thing. Most of it is picked up in pound shops x

Debenhams do really good 3 for 2 stocking fillers for both men and women.

You need bulky things to fill it up, box of chocolate fingers, jar of marmalade or jam, home made mince pies wrapped in cellophane, tub of Christmas nuts, and don’t forget the satsuma in the toe!
Wrap each item up, adds to the interest, and decorate it with a balloon, cracker etc.

Poundland - check their make up, I've had sally hansen nail varnish, Burts Bees tinted lip balm and Revlon chubby sticks in there recently for a pound each. They also have chocolate Santas and other Christmas-y choc with lots of packaging - usually unnecessary but helpful here. They often have decent brand pens in their stationery section, fun usb to iphone or android usb cables, zip up headphones, and there are lots of Christmas bits and bobs.

You should be able to get a few bits to really pad it out for less than a tenner and make it look like you paid more...

squishysquirmy · 10/12/2017 00:17

How cheap does it have to be?
What about a mix of stuff:
Nice jewellery from Etsy for under a tenner.
Or, just bulk out what you've got with a cheap mug (home bargains or pound shop do some that look very nice for the money), a chocolate orange, satsumas, etc - that should be fine I'd have thought. I don't think stockings are supposed to cost a lot to fill!

I agree with bunbummy about the poundland stuff - quite good for cheap chocs like Ferrero Rocher as well.

Also, what about a bokto bulk it out?
Places like the Works do cheap paperback books - I have bought non-fiction ones on really interesting subjects (popular science etc) before for £2ish or less, and they do a lot of fiction too.
The Book People is good too (online) but there is postage to pay so maybe not worth it unless you are ordering lots of books.

bokto = book to

gingerclementine · 10/12/2017 00:27

I'd get some marshmallow bubble bath and a chocolate orange or a Toblerone, some make up brushes, all from the pound store and some fluffy bed socks from Primark.
