Any ideas please? She has no suggestions!

She's not into clothes/make up yet, although she does love silly, cosy, comfy stuff, but I've bought her onesies in the past. She likes to read, write and draw but she has tons of art & writing materials and that's a smaller gift than I would like to get. I really want to make her smile!

My 11 yo niece is getting a pair of earrings this Christmas. I know she also loved it when I took her to a musical last year and went on about it for weeks. Sometimes, I take her shopping - whilst not into clothes like a teen would be, she does have her own style and likes getting things that her parents would find a bit unnecessary.

I bought my friends daughter a box of Odd Socks when she was 12. She loved them. They're not that expensive though so you'd have to add to them.

You could get a cool phone case, smelly stuff from lush, a hot water bottle with cover, a fluffy throw for her bed. Earings, stationary from paper chase.
Just thinking of some bits I've got my 11yr old.

My 11 year old DD and her friends love anything unicorn and if you have a look in Claire's, asos and new look there's loads of fun stuff. I've got her unicorn slippers, sleep mask, pompom keyring, pen and nail drier.

Also from asos I got her a really fab pompom hot water bottle with matching slipper socks. On the other hand, she also wanted a fingerling.

Thanks hugely for the suggestions.

She doesn't have her ears pierced yet or a phone and is really not into clothes. I don't want to encourage her to be more 'grown up' before she wants to.

Unicorn stuff may be an option, will have a look.

Was hoping for a chunky gift, rather than little bits though, she's had a birthday recently so got lots of smaller gifts (like stationery) from her friends.

Are there any games popular for that age group? Her older sister is sooo easy, last year was make up, jewellery for her birthday, this year is a Jack Willis sweatshirt. The 11 year old is a lovely sweet girl.

Are fingerlings the thing for a young ish 11 year old? Might that be a good idea?

My local store does have fingerlings in stock if that would be a winner

I know you’ve said you’d done onesies before but how about this? My 11yo dd would love it!

Hahah, Rayleigh Weir (Essex) branch of Smyths. Collect only and you can't reserve either by the looks of it. Says they have 7 black baby monkeys in stock.

I’m getting my 11 year old niece a popcorn maker, these hot chocolate sticks that you melt in the mug, and tickets to the ballet (that I’ll take her too)

Emily7708 · 08/12/2017 19:01

I managed to get a Unicorn fingerling from ToysRUs and a monkey from Argos. I think they would be great for an 11 year old. Or Lego Friends set?

Egg · 08/12/2017 19:03

My daughter is nearly 10 and is getting roller skates (£30 from Amazon) amongst other stuff. Would that be an option? She’s already had a pair she loved but has outgrown. She skates around the house 😄

snowmanshoes · 08/12/2017 19:21

Board games? Emojinary looks a fun option and I've got it for my dd of a similar age

catsarenice · 08/12/2017 19:31

My DD is almost 11 and is obsessively really into slime at the moment. She watches endless videos of people making it/playing with it so we have got her a kit for Christmas. (And a couple of tubs of already made stuff in case it goes wrong like all the homemade concoctions she makes!)

NavyGold · 08/12/2017 19:35

I think fingerlings might be a bit young for 11 year olds. My DD is obsessed with them at age 5 whereas my niece who will be 11 in Jan couldn't care less about them. None of my Year 7s at school are interests in them either. They are all obsessed with slime though!

MsAwesomeDragon · 08/12/2017 19:37

I'm getting my 11yo niece some audio book CDs. She listens to them at night so they're great for her. I've picked up a couple of box sets that she'll like, a Jaqueline Wilson set, and a Philip Pullman set.

Kraggle · 08/12/2017 19:40

My 11yo niece is in to all things pug and unicorn along with slime and makeup.

Rainybohoho · 08/12/2017 19:46

If you gave my 11 year old DD a fingerling she would make this face Hmm

However, she doesn’t like unicorns either, so not all 11 year olds are the same!

It’s all slime and make up here.

whatnextfred · 08/12/2017 19:55

I’m getting ten year old dd a Spirograph set! Reckon she will love it

angelawilliams · 08/12/2017 20:00

Jewellery is a great gift, if you go to somewhere like Warren James you could get a really pretty necklace and earrings set for around £30 or even cheaper, it costs around £3 for gift wrap and it's just a really nice gift! I got my daughter a necklace for her birthday last year and it was £25, with crystals! :) x

Thank you all.

Spirograph was a runner for a while, I think she'd enjoy that, but £30 seems a lot for it.

Heelys could be a good option too but I've gone for the fleecy unicorn onesie, I can imagine her loving it.

Thank you all again, I'm so pleased to have this gift bought!
