Present for v rich relatives

I have a very kind and generous relative who is very well off. Her husband does something in the city and she is a SAHM for their 3 DC. (2 in juniors, one high school)

Every year they send us a lovey hamper or big box of different wine bottles. I usually send a token gift (we aren't skint but not exactly rolling in it) last year I sent hotel chocolat and a nice candle. But wondering if I could send anything they would all like.

They are at the other end of the country so can't be anything too heavy to post.

Because there is quite a spread of ages for the kids I don't know if I can get anything they will all like. And although the kids are not spoiled, they have plenty of stuff and I don't see them often enough to know their favourite things. I asked of course and was told not to buy them anything, but I do want to send something. Budget around £40-50 for the lot, any suggestions? Sorry for the ramble!

How about an experience thing like family day out on buy a gift? If never used you can get £10 off first "shop" welcome to use my name as referral name if you pm me or go on referrals thread sure there will be one there.

There are meals out, family trips, family days out etc etc

A homemade cake? If they're very wealthy I expect they have plenty of everything you could buy that they might want, but something you create for them that they don't need to keep or display on the off chance that it's not to their taste might be very welcome.

Ticket to Ride board game.

I think a token is absolutely fine. In fact, what you gave last year sounds perfect.

An alternative is something like a festive flower arrangement or plant? I've always found plants4presents good for stuff like that.

Have a look on MessageMuffins website. They have a variety of things.

I think with the sort of people who have everything you can't go wrong with consumables. I'm sure the kids like the chocolates too

If you are an ok cook , bake a cake or biscuits - seriously the time and effort taken will mean more than material stuff

Ouch44 · 08/12/2017 14:56

Movie night hamper. DVD (or Amazon voucher to download), popcorn, popcorn tubs, blanket, sweets, quality street etc. That sort of thing. Always goes down well.

BelleSauv · 08/12/2017 14:57

Can I post a cake? Or biscuits? They live miles away and we won't see them until well after Christmas now, sadly.

Look up Treasure Trails. They are a company which so all sorts of Treasure Hunt/ walk type things for lots of different locations. Chose one or maybe two where they live. They get a map and clues. Maybe send some nice hot chocolate and snacks for when the walk is finished

GreenTulips · 08/12/2017 15:05

*include some playing card or some 'question cards' cheap entertainment and ends up fun!

Ouch44 · 08/12/2017 15:06

Glad you like it. I have some rich relatives who we mostly give hampers to. Last year was vegan hamper. We live near a vegan supermarket and they have to order online. Went down a storm! This year they are getting vegan beer and crisp hamper!

Pickledonion24 · 08/12/2017 15:23

Family board games or dvds even puzzles

JennyBlueWren · 08/12/2017 16:17

Are you somewhere with good local food that they wouldn't normally have? I live in Scotland so send a Scottish hamper to relatives which I make up myself. Most areas have local specialties which would be inexpensive but novel to them. You could throw in a local calendar too or local church/WI's recipe book too.

JennyBlueWren · 08/12/2017 16:18

You can post cakes and biscuits but put them in separate tins! I post my brother a cake for his birthday and Christmas. I often post cakes and biscuits to other relatives too.

Madbengalmum · 08/12/2017 18:37

What about some Biscuiteers biscuits or cake?

SandAndSea · 08/12/2017 18:42

A voucher for an escape room.

Dailystuck71 · 08/12/2017 18:56

Voucher for the cinema.
