What are you must haves for your Christmas cheeseboard? And what accompaniments do you like? It's one of my favourite parts of Christmas and I love choosing a good selection. Last year I was pregnant so planning on going all out this time!
Stilton is my absolute favourite, usually Cropsell Bishop.

Absolute Christmas cheese gluttons in our house.

I like a big chunk of Stilton + Roquefort, Camembert, Brie, cambezola, strong cheddar, gruyere and some smoked cheddar. Always experiment with a new blue each year, too.

DH insists on something goaty (bleurgh) and Wensleydale with cranberries.

And for those who basically like a strong, gooey puddle...highly recommend Badoz Vacherin du Haut-Doubs from Waitrose. Heavenly goo.

OP - it is. I may have bought 100g and been unable to restrain myself over a two-hour period. It’s a prize-winning cheese - here is the cheese society page with more details Smile

Ooh Poncy I will be checking that out. Thanks for the tip!

Also this is the best cheese company in the world. I send a box in advance if we are going to stay with friends. Amazing gift boxes. Even if just for yourself Wink Oh I want some now.

I've got some garlic Cornish Yarg in the fridge bought from Waitrose as part of their half price cheese sale on Sat!

Glumglowworm · 04/12/2017 21:45

marjory mmmmmmmm baked Camembert

I did it in a loaf of bread box once, possibly homemade but I’m not sure. It was sooooooooo good

MarjorySunshineDust · 05/12/2017 14:10

I feel your pain Willowy! At least you can have Stilton and baked Camembert I guess?! That's what got me through last year anyway.

I might go for a Vacherin this year instead of Camembert. Love Cornish Yarg.
Caws Cenarth make great Welsh cheese, especially the perl las. I always get some of that.

I'm a big fan of a hovis biscuit or carrs water biscuit.

Last year I made spiced apple chutney but having been that organised this year with a new(ish) baby!

We usually have a strong cheddar, brie, cranberry wensleydale and Bourisn. Sometimes add applewood smoked and a soft goats cheese.
We get one of the mixed biscuits/cracker boxes and have apple slices and chutney, sometimes DH likes dried apricots as well (vile things!)
