Bloody Elf on the shelf!

I haven’t wanted to be part of the Elf on the shelf phenomenon because I just can’t be arsed. I have enough to do already!

So DD has come home from school today telling me that “everyone” has their own Real Elf who comes all through December and all her friends were talking about what their elves had got up to and she asked why was she the only one who didn’t have one?!

I could curse all her bloody friends bloody mothers!

Cue me feeling guilty and thinking I should now go and get her one!

Ggrrrr!! 🤪

My ds is too old for this now and I miss these things. I think I would have bought one of those small wooden Christmas doors and said the elf lives in there and comes out as and when he wants. Bit of magic without doing too much!

Meh. Just tell them elf on the shelf toys come alive at night and disembowel children in their sleep. They'll not ask for one now.

I kid!

Tell them no. It's busy at other people's homes.
