Christmas ideas for an older couple

Every year we buy / make something for my aunt and uncle. They buy very generously for our DS (mainly clothes - she works in a supermarket so uses her staff discount and gets him loads) and we try and get a nice gesture in return - we've bought nutcracker tree decorations, Christmas tea towels (they have an arga style cooker and display them), made a fruit cake, nice christmas table cloth etc. in previous years. I'm trying to move away from making stuff as I don't have the spare time to do it well (I work FT) but we'd like to get them something nice.

They don't use candles / room scents etc. which is something else I'd have looked for, and I try to steer away from supermarket purchases just because she can get stuff cheaper herself anyway.

They are early 60s and there's only the two of them living at home. I'm looking for general things for the house because they have quite differing interests.

TIA if anyone can suggest ideas.

I had this problem as my aunt & uncle are early 70s & I like to buy them presents as I go to their Christmas party every year.

Everyone buys them chocolate, biscuits or alcohol.

So this year I bought my aunt a small pretty jewellery box as she has lots of jewellery- often I buy her silver earrings or beaded bracelets from Accessorize.

I've got my uncle a cat lovers calendar & will probably get a coaster too to go with it. In the past I've bought him a nice big coffee mug filled with chocolates.

Thanks Tehmina. Tea and coffee is a nice idea, might look for a nice little hamper.

I'm doing hampers for my mum and Dad, doesn't have to cost lots but I've thought really hard about various things they would like. I can't wait to give it to them!

That's interesting Doowapwap. Where are you getting the box / basket to "house" your hamper from?
