Ideas for dp

Already got dp one gift which he's had early, but would like to get him something else to open on xmas day. The following is either stuff he always gets or isn't interested in
Clothes - jeans/tshirts etc - his mum and sister tend to get him clothes.
Gift sets - not interested in them, this includes hip flasks/smellys/male grooming sets.
Alcohol - there are 3 full bottles of spirits in our kitchen.
Sports - doesn't cycle/gym/golf/football.
Novelty clothing (wouldn't be caught dead in it)
Films - we've been to the cinema about 4 times in 10 years.
'Dad' gifts - socks/mugs/picture frames etc - these have all been exhausted.
Don't think he would want a day out style gift.

So, anyone got some suggestions? He is into gaming but he's recently bought loads of stuff for his pc and I wouldn't know what was a good make. He tends to get the same stuff every year and I'd love to get him something different for once.

Have you checked the big Gifts For Men thread? Some great ideas there.

I've got DH a Wallet Ninja and a Grid It off the back of that thread.

My DH also really likes liquorice so that's a good back-up for something to open.

Lots of excellent ideas for you other males in the family, but sadly nothing that I think dp with like.
He often gets food style gifts that go out of date before being used and he doesn't like wallets, so anything like that is out. He has a massive shed full of unused tools, and several penknives, multitools etc.

Hmm.

Did you see the cheese toastie subscription? There's also pork scratchings versions and coffee versions etc.

ImAMarshmellow · 26/11/2017 20:38

He got pork scratchings last year and I've got him a pork scratching advent calendar. Don't think he likes cheese toasties.

Budgets about £40 ish. Should have mentioned earlier.

Does he read? If yes, a pile of books.

ImAMarshmellow · 26/11/2017 21:27

Nope, not a reader Confused.

He's not ungrateful, he always says thank you etc, but stuff just gets left in draws. He's bloody impossible.

Cheese, pickled onions, mustard, chutney and a big pork pie = my dp's dream gift. Grin

A burger maker from Amazon? They do a stuffed burger option which looks interesting.

jocktamsonsbairn · 26/11/2017 22:43

Something for the garden?
Night away in a hotel?
Restaurant vouchers?
Ask one of his friends about what to buy him gaming wise?

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 26/11/2017 22:52

Are you married to my husband? Grin

I’ve so far bought a Mercedes Benz aftershave - you can go in to any main dealer and they have stock for you to buy or order. It’s really nice so I hope he likes that.

And th8s even8ng amazon have an all singing interactive toothbrush Oral B 6500 should have been £200 but it’s £50 ish in the Black Friday deal - ridiculous money for a tooth brush but there you go

And lastly I’ve bought magnetic balls from amazon it’s like a fiddle toy they can make cubes and lines with plus flick them about and they stick together.

Hope that helps

SimplyNigella · 27/11/2017 08:20

You've said he doesn't read books, but would he read a magazine?

I also like the advice of buying a nicer version of something he already owns

MrsHathaway · 27/11/2017 09:31

He sounds like my dad, who is basically impossible to buy for.

However, I saw this grow your own mushrooms from 100% recycled materials kit this morning and thought of him.

And by the way, fuck spending £40 on something to get shoved in a drawer. For something to open on the day, nothing beats a Terry's Chocolate Orange or some novelty Christmas socks.

ImAMarshmellow · 27/11/2017 12:19

Doesn't garden.
In 10 years I've never seen him browse the magazines in Tesco let alone read one.
A burger press/meat rubs etc are a good idea, but since I do the cooking it's not really a gift for him.
If he wants something he just buys it himself. Angry. He's spent loads sorting out a gaming pc. Would have happily got him something for that but he's got everything Envy
Hotels/restaurants are tricky as we have no one to look after our little terror ds. Going anywhere with him is not classed as a relaxing time Grin.
He works in a factory style environment so doesn't bother with aftershave/jewellery etc. He wears tatty clothes for work, so doesn't need shirts, ties etc, nor does he need anymore casual tops etc for Home.

dash cam?

ask him??

Taffeta · 27/11/2017 12:25

I’ve got my DH

A cat puzzle
A weird wooden glasses holder that looks like an Easter Island dude for a fiver
Some Hotel Chocolat blackcurrant bombes
A Woolovers £5 cotton jumper
A tin with loads of After Eights in

Suspect this isn’t helpful but you never know!

parrotonmyshoulder · 27/11/2017 14:12

Tickets to a comedian you both like? With some effort to get a babysitter.

Onekidnoclue · 27/11/2017 17:20

This is a tough one!
Does he drink? Could you get him some lovely glasses for him to get through the spirits he’s already got?
Nice pair of headphones? For gaming or music
Voucher for a massage?
Dressing gown/slippers?
Amazon prime or Spotify subscription?
Belt?
Am racking my brains as I have a nightmare buying for my DH too.
Good luck OP!

Nicpem1982 · 27/11/2017 17:23

My dh has

A creator lego set
A travel mug
