Too small, sorry. Have you ordered (so can change) or actually bought it?

ladymariner · 25/11/2017 09:21

Sorry but yes, definitely too small. I admit I'm the other way and will have loads left over (8 people, 8lb boneless crown here) but I like it cold with gamon and bubble and squeak on boxing day, and then if there's still some left its turkey curry on the 27th! I would be so stressed if I thought I wouldn't have enough meat for everyone.

ladymariner · 25/11/2017 09:22

That should've said 8kg!!!

ladymariner · 25/11/2017 09:25

Bloody hell, no it shouldn't, its 8 and a half pounds!!! That would be a bloody ostrich Grin

I'm going to back off now.....sorry!! X

We have a 1.1kg turkey breast bacon wrapped stuffing parcel thing and a 2kg leg of lamb and thats for 5 adults 1 teen and 1 toddler.

MrsPear · 25/11/2017 11:16

I have ordered a 4.5 to 5 kg whole turkey and 1kg beef joint for 6 adults and 2 children.

Good food recommends 4.5kg whole turkey as a minimum. see here

Contact your supplier and change.

Oh and don’t forget you have not bought 2kg of meat. You have bought 2kg of bones and meat. Hence why you have to buy so large. Also buying a whole turkey per weight is cheaper than a crown.

Jaffalong · 25/11/2017 16:08

You can either cook another joint of meat like ham or beef or buy another turkey crown or rolled turkey breast. Not a complete disaster, atleast you didn't find out on the day.
