Only dd likes it, so it seems so wasteful to buy a big jar.

It's really just like jam, would DD eat it on toast or mix with yoghurt to use it up?

Yes that's what I do every year. I just don't like chucking a practically full jar 10 months later.

Make your own ? Just buy a small handful of cranberries.

WeAllHaveWings · 21/11/2017 23:03

Think you need to chuck 6 weeks (maybe less) after opening!

We eat cranberry sauce all year round with normal roast chicken dinners.

Isadora2007 · 21/11/2017 23:04

Aldi has a jar for around 60/70p. Let her eat it after Christmas?

BikeRunSki · 21/11/2017 23:05

I use it to make cranberry scones around March time.

Giraffey1 · 21/11/2017 23:05

It’s nice to eat with lamb, and chicke as well as turkey!

PurpleDaisies · 21/11/2017 23:05

It’s nice with cheese in sandwiches.

Brie and cranberry is yummy. We use cranberry sauce all year round. If your daughter likes it on turkey I'm sure she'd like it on chicken sandwiches too.

Ilovetolurk · 21/11/2017 23:07

Mmmmm cranberry brie and legover turkey grilled sandwich is a thing of joy

PurpleDaisies · 21/11/2017 23:07

Love the “legover turkey”!

Ilovetolurk · 21/11/2017 23:08

Perhaps even more so than a leftover turkey sandwich

LadyPeterWimsey · 21/11/2017 23:08

Make cranberry gin, then use the cranberries to make cranberry sauce. Since you’ve had double use out of them, maybe it would be ok to throw away the leftover sauce. But since homemade sauce is much nicer than the jarred stuff anyway, it might convert the rest of you to it.

Muddlingalongalone · 21/11/2017 23:08

I haven't looked yet but Morrison's are usually good at having small jars of things

Aldi

Why not let her use it up with sausages and mash or in sandwiches.

Hissy · 21/11/2017 23:09

Oh make it!!!!!

It’s a gazillion billion times better than jars!

It's true that recipes to use up cranberry sauce would be more useful than the turkey recipes that abound in the last week of every year.

Mm that BM one is cute, and I love apple sauce ( with custard).
I am not stopping dd eating it all year round- she's just interested.
