Are you a grandparent? Where do you look for present ideas for your grandchlidren

I'm after a bit of advice really. I run a baby and preschool swimming company. Gift vouchers (to pay for our lessons) would be a really lovely present from grandparents, but I've no idea how to reach grandparents to suggest it? I'm just wondering where you might look for ideas on things to buy your grandchildren (i.e. are you on Facebook, do you read the local magazines that come through the door etc??)

Thanks! xx

As a parent, I tend to forward ideas on to the grandparents when they invariably ask for them. So you might be best letting your clients know that you offer gift vouchers so they can then suggest them to friends/family who want to get them a gift.

Agree with PP . They ask me for ideas .

I ask my children what theirs want, DD usually tells me what they are into and I get to choose. We're not seeing DGS3 until he new year so we will take his presents, Christmas and birthday when we go up to then.

Thanks all. I think you might be right, it’s probably a rare grandparent who would take a punt on a series of expensive lessons without the child’s parent actually asking for them...

It is the sort of thing my kids' parents get them as presents though. They know they get loads of toys for birthdays and Christmas so they ask us if there's a class we'd like them to pay for. DS got a term's worth of football classes and DD got a week's summer science camp for their last birthdays.

Kids' grandparents that should read, not parents.

Good point. Would you potentially ask for vouchers towards an activity you were already doing, or be more likely to do it as something new that you hadn't tried yet?

Lots of people I know would ask for money towards an existing activity, particularly if they have an idea of how much a term usually costs.
