For DD. Sorry if this has been done already, but I need to be nosy inspired. I’ve only bought a couple of little stocking filler bits so far so need to get cracking. She loves role play (shops, doctors that sort of thing); so far I’m thinking:

Doctors set
Weighing scales and more food bits for her kitchen
Tea set - Emma Bridgewater have a nice one but any cheaper recommendations?
Lots of books
A board game - hungry hippos, Kerplunk etc.
A bit of Peppa Pig stuff begrudgingly

Give me inspiration Smile

What kitchen accessories are people getting for their kids? I'd like to get DS a set of kitchen toys, saucepans etc, but haven't found one I like enough to buy yet.

He's already getting a baby doll, bottle and nappies, some books, Peppa stuff (socks and cutlery), stickers, happyland playground. Was thinking maybe a happyland house. He got the happyland bus for his birthday and it's been played with LOADS and LOADS. (But he loves buses. I asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he said a Peppa spoon and a bus. He's getting the spoon, but he has four buses already if you count the Peppa book with wheels, so not sure I want to buy a fifth!) Also wondering about a kite as every time it's windy he talks about the Peppa episode with the kite. (I won't be buying him all this stuff, but it's good to have ideas to suggest to family etc).
Of his birthday presents, the scooter was a huge success, as was the bus (which gets eyed covetously every time we take it out around other children) and the Brio.

cheerfulmuddler we have a mix of Le Toy Van wooden bits (on the pricier side) & Lidl wooden sets (much cheaper) - scales, food, pots & pans, kettle that sort of thing. Both really well made and great quality (particularly Lidl for the price).

I second the Lidl wooden food, we've also got a pan set from ikea. It's proper stainless steel - am quite tempted to try cooking in it for real!!

DD was 2.5 last year. She got lots of Peppa playsets (from us and from family, some were new and some were eBay), an easel, a tool kit and plenty of books. That wasn't everything but they were her favourites!

Cheerful my daughter is also desperate from a kite and I’m sure it’s because of Peppa!

CheerfulMuddler · 21/11/2017 14:02

Ooh thanks, will check out Aldi and IKEA. I may have been encouraging the kite thing, as I have very fond memories of kite-flying with my granddad, and figure it's something we can get years of play out of. #skinflint

Happyland sets
Playmobil 123

I saw Lidl had a wooden kitchen with pans and apron etc for £50 yesterday. May help someone.

I've just bought a doll's pram from John Lewis for Gdd aged 2.7, who's very much into her 'babies' lately. It's the smaller one, £28 on the website, though I got it in the shop after checking it out. It comes with a shopping basket and a matching changing bag, too.
