Family boardgames for age 4+

The potential recipients have junior monopoly, and pretty much every orchard toys game going.
I was thinking maybe ludo? Is Scrabble or trivial pursuit too old? Any suggestions?

Not strictly board games but Jenga and Connect 4 are popular with our two 7 and 4.

Rhino Hero, Zoowaboo, Baobab, Sleeping queens and supertooth all loved by the 4 year old here. Following with interest for other ideas

Agree with carcassonne and dobblw. There’s a junior version of ticket to ride which is would be worth a look. I’m not a personal fan of rhino hero but my son loves it!

My DDs (7 and just 5) love Dobble, Frustration, Tooth Fairy Game, Pass the Bomb, Hedbanz and Cluedo (I drew some pictures on the notepad to help DD2 at first but it hasn't taken her long to recognise the words). DD1 loves Harry Potter trivial pursuit but DD2 still finds it too difficult and I haven't found a set of questions for her yet. She finds junior scrabble boring but DD1 quite enjoyed it at the same age. It wasn't a favourite - she got bored making the same words each time.

I have bought Bugs in the Kitchen, Game of Life and Labyrinth for Christmas so I hope they are good.

Snakes and ladders. It is a favourite with my 4 year old.

Uni was well enjoyed by my 4 year old. We have a game called bunny jump which is like pop up pirate type game and junior game of life although it's a bit too boring for adults and if I'd have known I'd have just gone for the full version. She likes junior cranium but does need some support.

Snakes and ladders and Ludo were very popular with my DD at 4+.

We just got Rummikub now (she's 7) - that's a big hit. A 4 year old could do it too. She also loves Dobble.

We love Lattice. One of those games that can be played in a fairly straightforward way, but as they get older they start to understand a bit more about strategy. It doesn't make me want to poke my eyes out like the Paw Patrol sodding board game

Not strictly a board game but Dobble is fun, and ideal for travelling. Our DC (ages 5 - 10) love Gemblo - coloured tiles on a hexagonal board, simple once you've played a couple of time. Planning to introduce them to Rummikub soon.
A pack of playing cards is also good

We have a game called Logo What am I? Which I believe is a children's version of the game Logo. It's very good, and actually enjoyable for adults to play as well as being good for the dc.

Sorry, just realised it says 8+ although we have definitely successfully played it with Ds and he's only 5. Might not be suitable after all.

Another vote for Rummikub here - no reading required and have successfully played with an array of ages

Not strictly a board game, but my youngest has loved Exploding Kittens since late 4. Obviously not played in a terribly strategic way, but we all still have fun anyway.

Rhino Hero is a cross between Jenna and Uno, and is brilliant - equally enjoyable for kids and adults.

I got my DD (3 at the time) the Peppa Pig Party game. Both DDs loved it and was fun for the adults too

My 4 year old loves the Orchard Toys games but i think scrabble and junior trivial pursuit would be beyond him. He and his older brother LOVE Bugs In The Kitchen - easy, quick and fun. Qwirkle is another good one that offers a longer playing time.
