Any tips for a couple of nice gift ideas? She has plenty of recipe books but I wondered if there wer any handy little cake making gadgets that would be popular?

Lakeland stock some great Bake-Off items as well as lots of fun baking accessories. A good piping set, cool shaped biscuit cutters or a funky timer might be good.

myrtleWilson · 31/10/2017 23:02

Lakeland are usually good at this time of year for stocking fillers - its not baking but last year I got my dd a porridge mug - which she loves and uses most mornings to make her porridge....

dinnerladies · 31/10/2017 23:11

www.notonthehighstreet.com are ace - things like personalised wooden spoons and rolling pins etc.

AdaColeman · 31/10/2017 23:12

Another vote for Lakeland, or Ocado have some nice little things also.

If you could squeeze in one more little cook book the Bero flour book is fab, cheap, and filled with loads of tasty old time treats.

For real cheap and cheerful stocking fillers it’s worth looking at the Jane Asher range in Poundland. They stock loads of “foodsafe” (cannot be called edible for legal reasons) glitter for example.

My nan bought me some nifty icing gadgets last year - a tin with different nozzles, a dual colour icing set, and an embossed rolling pin. She also got me a cupcake corer which is quite good.

YesThisIsMe · 31/10/2017 23:15

If she hasn’t got a piping bag and nozzles set then that’s a no brainer.

BikeRunSki · 31/10/2017 23:15

Unusual shape biscuit cutters.

Chimchar · 31/10/2017 23:16

I have seen a few mugs around with ‘star baker’ on them.

Sorry! Clearly not a stocking filler!

Leeds2 · 01/11/2017 17:44

I bought a personalised wooden spoon from, I think, Not On The High Street.
Fancy cupcake cakes.
Silicone cupcake moulds.

LostMyRubySlippers · 01/11/2017 20:04

Emma Bridgewater have a star baker mug, I got one for a friend

UsernameTaken2 · 01/11/2017 22:39

A wire cake slicer for making nice even layers in cakes and taking the top off of domed cakes.
Cookie cutters, cookie stamps are cool. A bottle of Good quality vanilla extract (that stuff is bloody expensive!!) A rolling pin with removable thickness guides 🤔 hmm what else would I like 😆

Findingdotty · 01/11/2017 22:41

Fancy flavourings or essences like orange blossom or proper vanilla.

Also a silicone spoon, spatula and a thermometer.

SchoolNightWine · 01/11/2017 22:51

This thermometer from Lakeland is fab www.lakeland.co.uk/16004/Thermospatula-Silicone-Spatula-%26-Thermometer

DH always buys good vanilla extract and fancy cupcake cases for my stocking. Blush

CarrotVan · 02/11/2017 11:07

Another recommendation for Poundland baking stuff

Also flavour injector, paper cases, personalised cookie stamps

CarrotVan · 02/11/2017 11:08

Nielsen Massey extracts are really good

ArcheryAnnie · 02/11/2017 11:20

Biscuit cutters! You can get some really fantastic ones. Lobsters, planes, spiders, all sorts.
