My dog comes very high on my Christmas present list Grin but I need some fresh ideas.

What are you buying your dog for Christmas?

Have got a new tub of Cosmic Cat (catnip crack) for our three Devon Rex's and the kids build them a new cardboard fort unveiled and sprinkled with Cosmic Cat on Christmas morning. They go nuts.

Two new Guinea Pigs this year. The lads will be getting a tube of fresh parsley (their favourite) each.

No dogs

I’ve already bought them a new rope toy and some treats each.
I also plan on getting them a new anco root chew each and maybe a new car seat cover for the back seat of the car post walks.

Getting kiddo to paint ceramic food bowls is a brilliant idea!

I am getting him a harness/ruck sack so he looks super smart and can carry his own poo bags.

He was with us last Christmas but only just so I hadn’t made him a stocking. Turns out he has a pretty serious sock fettish so it will be a stocking filled with socks.

I didn't know people did this!

@Hedgyhoggy, is that a Rhodesian Ridgeback? We have an 18 week old RR pup :-)

It's just a bit of fun. Of course the dog doesn't know it's Christmas but he is part of our family and the children find it amusing that he has his own named stocking and love opening a couple of presents on his behalf. Also they love feeding him doggie Christmas treats.

My dogs are spoilt rotten. They get a stocking with treats, a filled kong on Xmas morning, new toys and steak for dinner.

1stTimeMama · 01/11/2017 10:45

I never even thought about it! My children are going to want to do this, aren't they?!

bastardlyandmutley · 01/11/2017 12:19

They have a stocking each. Every year I always get them a Jumbone, a bag of fancy treats that they haven't tried before & a Christmas themed squeaky toy. They also get new tennis balls and whatever bargain toys I've bought in the year. Last year Aldi did some brilliant rubber ones (a snail and a mouse) that have lasted all year. This year they will also get a new football because I hoofed theirs over next door's fence and it got lost in their jungle (Dog whined by the fence on and off for two days). The best bit for both dogs is all the wrapping paper & Yorkshire puddings though.

Dog's stocking will have a variety of treats in. Under the tree she will get a christmassy box filled with a lot of tennis balls (at least 20 - I get used ones off ebay), a massive bone, and a new toy chosen by the children.

I haven’t thought of presents yet, but I’ve bought her an advent calendar (lily’s Kitchen) already. She’s the first member of the family to have a calendar purchased. Blush

Ours cats always get loads of treats in their stockings to share and I always make sure to buy a couple of posh brand cat food trays for their Christmas meals. This year they have a selection of Lily's kitchen trays.

They are totally spoilt all year round at Christmas.

Tennis ball launcher
Soft toys
Treats
Bones
Advent Calendar

Stompythedinosaur · 02/11/2017 12:08

I have just bought some catnip bubble mixture for the kittens for their present!

PassTheMead · 02/11/2017 12:21

Last year our spaniel got so excited by her stocking she threw up everywhere, but she's a bit nuts anyway.

Probably - a new bed (she loves my parents dogs bed, it has higher sides)
New collar every year,
New cuddly toy squeaky thing
Bone
Treats

I don't even have a dog of my own but my friends have just got one. I have bought him lots of lovely presents Grin
He has a reindeer outfit with antlers, some chewy treats, a three bird roast, a couple of squeaky toys and a ball to hide treats in.

This shop opened in our town recently, I thought it was a toy shop - turns out it was a dog shop! It's beautiful Grin
Dp thinks I've entirely lost the plot!

CakeNinja · 02/11/2017 20:45

I've bought fuck all else for the humans in my life, including my own 3dc, but the friends dog is good Halo

Dionysuss · 03/11/2017 20:44

I already have a dog advent calendar and a few too many dog treats hidden away. (Hidden away in a very high cupboard. One year she sniffed them out) I need to get her a new festive dog bow tie. She has a new one each year for Christmas week and looks very sweet. DH thinks the other dogs laugh at her.

I'm also getting her a sheepskin to put on her seat of the sofa.

fleshmarketclose · 04/11/2017 08:20

Embarrassed to say that ddog gets the full Christmas experience so will get an advent calendar, presents and a stocking. He will also get a Christmas dinner and lots of treats and as his birthday is Christmas Eve I make the Christmas Log and stick on a candle to sing Happy Birthday to him. He loves all the fuss, he loves ripping off the wrapping paper and I'd feel mean if he wasn't fully included and in return I get to dress him in various Christmas outfits for a few weeks Grin
