Posh hamper bits

Doing a hamper each for my two aunties. They both do so much to help the whole family over the year so would like to get them a hamper filled with good quality goodies. They are both widowed and live alone. Ideas..

Are you looking to buy a ready made hamper? Or make them up?

Booths supermarkets do a good hamper range if you want pre-bought.
Or Betty's of Harrogate do lovely tea/coffee/biscuit type hampers.

Personally I think a hamper you make up yourself would be nicer if you can deliver it personally.
In which case:
"Special" tea or coffee
Emma Bridgewater or similar mug
Betty's of Harrogate Florentines or similar biscuit
A Small fruit cake
Hotel Chocolat hot chocolate/chocolates/hamperybits
Tiptree special Jam
Good marmalade
Local Honey

Basically the ingredients of a really good tea time/supper time, a notch or two above what they would usually have

I feel hungry now

Maybe also a good new book or DVD set

Or maybe one of the Goodhousekeeping/Countryliving/radio times magazine subscriptions that have been on the bargain threads

Jams/marmalade/chutney?
Nice crackers?
Some posh towels/bubble bath/soap?

Lindor?

When are you planning to give them? It's just that we get a few given to us each year actually on Christmas day and it drives us mad! That's because we have already been out and bought everything for Christmas.

If they were given to us a bit before Christmas we would appreciate so much more.

I would put in-

Really nice socks- cashmere or bamboo
Local Chutney
Local Jam
Fudgen Crackers
Bottle of something they like to drink- could be a mini spirit or a little bottle of champagne
Candle
A good book
A string of fairy lights
Fancy biscuits- fudgen flap jacks
Fudge or chocolates
A well written and heartfelt card of thanks.
