Difficult one. Geeky type I guess but has that awful teen scathing of most things
Have to buy a small gift around £7-8
Could go to £10 but would like not to as have lots of these small gifts to get
The others are all younger girls and easier

FCUK body spray and shower gel combo?
A big tub of celebrations?
A fidget spinner!!!

marmiteloversunite · 30/09/2017 18:08

Pair of inner ear earphone. They are always losing or breaking them.

SleightOfMind · 30/09/2017 18:09

If you don't know him that well, chocolate/sweets are always acceptable. They're not as grown up as they think they are Wink

MagdalenLaundry · 30/09/2017 18:10

Forgot to say. I need to post it
I don't want to pay more for postage than the gift costs
Ear buds are a good idea. They all use them don't they?

I would just send a £10 Amazon voucher. Then he can buy whatever he wants.

MuddlingThroughLife · 30/09/2017 20:19

I would send a voucher - Starbucks, Amazon, Nando's. 🎗

MyBrilliantDisguise · 30/09/2017 20:21

Honestly, at that age most kids just want the money! Send him a tenner and he won't have the chance to be scathing! You can't even try to understand what he wants (in his head) so don't bother trying.

Peeetle · 30/09/2017 20:33

Starbucks or Costa voucher goes down well I agree

Jedimum1 · 30/09/2017 20:38

Definitely earphones, they break easily nowadays. I probably buy a pair every couple of months because I keep putting them in my coat pocket and the cable keeps breaking inside. Or if he commutes or takes the bus, see if you can find a splitter like this: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01HO60NFO/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506800095&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=earphone+splitter&psc=1&tag=mumsnetforum-21#immersive-view_1506800161185
it's a splitter so the friends can all put their earphones into it and they all can listen to the same stuff. I've seen teenagers in the train sharing the music or video that way.

Anything Vans or Adidas, like socks or t-shirts, which you might find in the sales or tkmaxx.

Amazon voucher.

Ellapaella · 01/10/2017 08:36

I have a 15 year old ds and I would also recommend either cash or a voucher - cinema would be good (check which is local to him). All teenage boys seem to hang out in Nando's so that would be a winner, failing that an iTunes voucher or gift card for whichever games console he has (Xbox, ps etc).

Fishcalledlola · 01/10/2017 08:44

Have started putting a fiver in a card with a big dairy milk. A fiver feels a bit mean but my Sil said something about how her kids add it to the pile. She's got 4 boys and they always get enough birthday/Christmas cash to buy what they want.
By the time you've posted it, it's still under a tenner.

Unicorn81 · 01/10/2017 09:23

I got my nephew 100ml of Police aftershave for a tenner from semichem

BumWad · 01/10/2017 09:26

Voucher, Amazon, iTunes etc

Cakescakescakes · 01/10/2017 09:28

You'd be as well sending a £10 voucher that will cost 50p to post in a card rather than spend £8 on something that will cost £2.85 to post (which is Royal Mail small parcel rate).

astrotel · 01/10/2017 19:46

FCUK body spray and shower gel combo?

Would you like to get tampax? Shower gel is not a gift it is an essential

£10 note in an envelope. teenagers get such crap gifts- the unwanted part often boots 3 for 2 and loads of cheap toiletries.

GreenTulips · 01/10/2017 19:48

Would you like to get tampax?

I had the same thought!

Whinesalot · 01/10/2017 19:52

Most 15 year olds are inundated with toiletries. I'd avoid.

Fifa points if he plays it, would go down a treat. Or vouchers. Or anything food related - or food vouchers!

Chocolatecake12 · 02/10/2017 07:52

My 15 year old would appreciate a fiver and a bar of chocolate as pp suggested.
Or a costa gift card
Toiletries are a naff present!

d270r0 · 02/10/2017 14:30

I agree go with £10 voucher. Amazon probably best. A 15 year old would appreciate that much more than a 'token gift'.
That doesn't mean you have to spend the same amount on the others if you get them gifts... they won't know how much you have spent.
