I'm not changing much. But I definitely need to buy better chocolates this year.
Bought Roses and Quality Street last year and they were crap. I'm investing in better chocolate this year.

Will probably ditch a starter on Xmas day. Dh and the kids just aren't arsed and it makes life tricky.

What are you going to do differently this year round?

We usually do a nice walk on Christmas Eve, ending at the pub for a few. Watch a film Christmas Eve.
Chilled out morning Christmas Day with the kids then family arrive and we make Christmas dinner for 14. Love it. Play daft games after and just have a laugh.

Ooh, I’m feeling very inspired by the Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve concept.

Now to persuade the rest of the gang.....!

This year is my first with dd so for the first time I'm leaving home to visit dsis in the morning and dpil in the afternoon. I am quite excited not to be cooking!

Pretty much everything!

I normally do every thing for Christmas, cook from scratch and don't enjoy the day so this year -

Not cooking lunch, we are having lovely picky bits from M&S and Aldi.

Cutting back on gifts

Making more of my gifts

Not putting pressure on myself to have a picture perfect day.

Im only keeping the lovely things we all enjoy doing so it'll look something like this:

Saturday visit santa, pick up food
Christmas eve morning, decorate cake
Afternoon, nice lunch and panto
Evening drinks with friends and traditions (reindeer food, stockings etc)

Christmas day relax and enjoy

Boxing Day visit family

This year DD turned vegetarian, her - and our - favourite bit of Christmas lunch is pigs in blankets... going to be fun finding an alternative.

I have to admit to being seriously tempted by this. Leftovers for Christmas dinner sounds heavenly. There’s no chance my lot will go for it though.

We are hosting! (Well still a tbc but should be).

We are normally the ones driving everywhere (only children, small family) so have suggested parents and in laws come to us.

Means my parents will have to stay (they don't drive) which may be 'interesting' as my dad is a seriously heavy smoker.

I love Christmas but normally don't enjoy the day as too much driving, so crossing fingers this works.

I am so excited about Christmas this year. We've told both sets of parents we want to stay home and my children will be 2 and 4 so great ages! Going to open stockings and then go and do Christmas Day parkrun before main pressies. Seafood lunch (in laws do a Boxing Day roast). Dog walk and lots of time to play with children's presents and drink champagne!
