Present for 9 year old girl

Hi all,
Looking for some help on what to buy my niece for xmas this year. I've always been fine with buying for her but I think she's officially too cool for me now! She's quite a girly girl, does dancing, cheerleading, likes making things. Very into her clothes, hair and nails (her mum is a beautician). My budget is around £20 although could go a bit higher, just that £20 is about what I've spent on the others.
Thanks for helping the clueless uncool auntie!

I have a dd(11) but she is not so girly so not sure I will be much help but she likes a few girly things and hopefully this will bump your post.

Dd likes body shop the little shower gels and lip balms, bright nail varnished like turquoise or yellow.

Pj's a really nice set (no characters or babyish designs) for sleepovers.

Stationary is always appreciated in bright colours.

Things for her bedroom; cushions, photo frames, wind chimes.

She is getting a bit old for crafts but still does a bit of fimo jewelry making with her friends.

Otherwise books and music. If your dn has a kindle or ipod then an Amazon or iTunes voucher is always met with joy!

Thanks, hadn't even thought of places like Body Shop. I'm just so clueless about this age range.

My dd is only 8 but likes colour in pillows/bags, decorate a diary/lockable diary type of things, stationary, purses (and money!), bags from assessorise, rainbow magic fairy books and strangely enough... Yahtzee and Rummikub.

Maybe a balance bike? Is it too small for a 9 yrs?

Passthecake30 · 27/09/2017 12:36

I'd say a balance bike is too small, they are more into heeleys/roller skates at that age...

Stationery from paperchase, bath bombs and fancy soap. I second the fimo, seems to be perfect for that kind of age and tie dye kits. You could get a tie dye kit and a plain t shirt for £20.

Anything from Smiggle for many 9 year olds!

BluthsFrozenBananas · 27/09/2017 12:41

My DD is 9, although not really into clothes or make up yet. One of her most favourite things she got for xmas last year was her mermaid tail blanket, she also likes sequin art sets and stationary. In general her age range seem to like mermaids and unicorns, pusheen (a cartoon cat) and brush sequin tops and bags. If you want to play it safe a set of good quality art felt pens or coloured pencils plus a sketch book would be a good gift.

Branleuse · 27/09/2017 12:43

Id get her some pyjamas and give her the rest as cash

ProfessorCat · 27/09/2017 12:53

Lush bath bombs, stationEry (preferably from Smiggle/Paperchase), a Diamond Painting kit.

Scroobius · 27/09/2017 13:13

A Fimo kit is looking like a good bet then. Mermaid tail blanket could be doable as well. I had at least heard of Smiggle even if I didn't have a clue what it was 😂

Fimo is good
My 9 year olds don't like smiggle any more they're too sophisticated for it 😂
@deliadah Balance bikes are for 2 or 3 year olds! Most are riding proper bikes by 4-6. I doubt it's possible to get a balance bike big enough for a 9 year old

Zebee · 27/09/2017 18:41

Silk painting kits are good, suitably easy to do but feel more grown up.

Patchouli666 · 27/09/2017 19:46

Anything from lush!
