Ok, we are in desperate need for ideas for DS Christmas presents.

What are you getting yours if they are around 3.5-4yo?

DS loves anything with wheels (has heaps of matchbox style cars as well as some medium monster truck types), duplo (again, already has two giant boxes full) and is starting to get a bit more into imaginative play. We have a kitchen and food, easel, lots of books, a few puzzles, farm animals, IKEA train set, scooter - usual kid stuff.

We live in a flat so not heaps of room, no outside space.

He will likely start school in Sept 2018 and goes to child care 4 days/week.

Help!!!

DS will be 3.7 at Christmas and is getting a bike as his big present. Apart from that he’s getting:

stickle bricks
Buckaroo
PJ masks dress up mask and figure
Paw patrol vehicle and character
Mr potato head

Other stuff I can’t remember but some classic bits that I hope he’ll get lots of use out of!

Place marking (DS 4)

My DS just turned four & got a Thomas take & play set, the roaring Dino one, which has gone down well. They fold in for storage and just kind of unclip from the folded position & are ready to play with, rather than having to be built each time. You can also clip different sets together if you have more than one.

Last Christmas when he was just 3 we got him a basic Thomas track master set, which is good but very fiddly to build & he still needs help to build it. For something accessible & to be played with a bit more independently I really recommend the take & play.

He also loves dinosaurs. We found an imaginext one in tk maxx for £15 which roars & walks and has a little man on top with a missile which he has had loads of play out of.

My DS will be 4 before Christmas and between birthday and Christmas is getting:
A bike
Marble run
More duplo- he's not that interested in normal Lego yet
Lion Guard playset
What if books- factual nature types
A version of jenga
Remote control car

Considering some dressing up outfits after looking at this thread, it's been very useful! He won't tell me what he wants, just that it should be a surprise. Helpful.

Ds is 4 im December.

He wants everything.

A jelly maker
A chocolate maker
Lego
Dinosaurs (loves dinosaurs)
Likes go jetters atm. But that could change.
Dressing up stuff
Paw patrol stuff
Rusty rivets stuff
A baby and pram
Marvel characters

He is really into imagination play atm. As well as drawing and colouring.

Am not getting him loads tho. We are away on holiday on his birthday for a week. And I spent 3 hours yesterday sorting through his toys and crap and binning/charity shopping stuff.

Tegu is fantastic Smile You can get wheels to go with the blocks and they do themed sets too. It's expensive but well worth it. Amazon has deals occasionally but they sell out quickly.

Ds age 3.10, at Christmas

Wooden Threading Beads
Play Dough
Play food
Lego
Fuzzy Felt

peachy94 · 30/09/2017 22:45

DS is 4.5 things he's loved over the last year - Lego, playmobil fire engines, police cars, hospital and ambulance, play doh, kinetic sand, a cheap garbage truck that sings a horrendously annoying song, superheros/batman related things. He likes the elc frog game that's like hungry hippos and the bee one that's like kerplunk x

peachy94 · 30/09/2017 22:46

Oh and his kitchen and workbench/tools x

codswallopandbalderdash · 30/09/2017 22:51

We will be getting another flatpack cardboard shop or space rocket that you can build and paint and then play in. Was a great success last year and only cost £7.50 - half price from hobbycraft. Weeks of fun

DS is 4.5 this Xmas and I think it will be lego, lego, more lego and some board games. Maybe puppet theatre too.

HotSteppa · 01/10/2017 00:01

Drs kit has been really popular with my 2 (2 and 4)

HelpfulHermione · 01/10/2017 00:10

My DS is a little bit older but also vehicle mad!!

At 3 my DS loved his Thomas wooden train set (still does). It's well worth the extra ££ over generic train sets.

I'd also highly recommend Playmobil. We're going to get DS the police station but I wish we'd started on it when he was younger. Really good quality toys, good value and great for imaginitive play.
