DD is 4 and I think she's still too young. I can't wait though, it's the 1st December this year so we'll put the tree up and break out the Christmas pjs and duvets!

My DM woke up my sister to let her watch it when she was 3 or 4. It's part of the Christmas magic staying up late watching it with sweets (and generally falling asleep before the end but still...).

HolyShmoly · 17/09/2017 14:06

Don't you feel the overpowering need to wake them up anyway after you watch the littlies section? Do you watch it on the Sunday afternoon together instead? I'd put her in her jammies and cuddle up on the couch to watch it this year, then maybe arrange for her to go to Grannies the next day when she's tired and grumpy! Xmas Grin

😂

NotAPuffin · 17/09/2017 19:13

Yeah, that about sums it up Grin

I tried watching it with my two on sunday afternoon last year when they were 6 and 4 but they were scared of it (sensible children!). We'll try again this year.

Peopleplease · 17/09/2017 19:20

She's a nightmare when she's tired but I like the idea of sending her to grannies! Might give it a try and see how it goes.

I wonder will Penny's do the pyjama colaberation in aid of Temple Street again.

I didn't want mine watching it and deciding they wanted some over-priced, under-stocked, must-have toy after I had their gifts wrapped and stashed and was settling in for a nice, relaxed, retail-madness-free December. And then I realised they were all watching it in school anyway Hmm

TheOnlyPink · 18/09/2017 11:36

I've let ds 1 up for it since he started school, but ds2 wouldn't watch it properly, he would head off playing, plus he's a nightmare when he's tired. He will be 6 this year and I think he will kick off i f ds1 is up and he isnt, so will see.
I quite like watching it on a Sunday afternoon though!

BiddyPop · 18/09/2017 14:23

See, the time its on is the reason why its the only LLS that is repeated on a Sunday afternoon!!

Dontcha' miss the Billie Barrie Kids though?!

And those Twins showing the wonderful holiday to Orlando that is the special prize to win - every single year!! (phone in on the premium line of course)

The RTE Secret Producer twitter account needs to tell us how the Toy Show tickets are really handed out. There's got to be buckets of corruption there!!

littlewoollypervert · 18/09/2017 14:49

A few years ago DD and all her friends went to a mate's house in their onesies and Ugg boots after they had performed in the school transition year show, to watch the LLTS which her friend's mum had recorded for them.

They were all 16. Grin

I know a lad who was one of the toy testers and gave out yards to Pat Kenny (who wasn't playing with the toy properly). He got lots of brownie points all his school life for that!
