Keep checking and no one seems to have started a thread on this yet - what to get the DHs/DPs in our lives?

I can repeat some of last year:
Voucher for homebrew shop
Voucher for posh cheese shop
Selection box of posh teas
Magazine subscription pertaining to camping and/or caravanning

Bottle of whisky was an old stand-by but he's concluded after extensive taste testing that he's not that into it.

Anyone got any brainwaves for the men in their lives?

I wish my husband would post a list like that. It would make my lift much easier.

ChocDee · 12/09/2017 16:25

I made a snappy one line compilation of the funniest moments from our marriage and printed it out and framed it.

It's nice to glance at on a rainy day when life feels a bit mundane!

I think you can order it on Etsy as well but I made my own!

That's very good ChocDee I think I'll compile one of those.

I'm getting the Harry Razor set as DH has a wet shave and these razors look quite nice, whisky, socks, pants, blu rays, Ales and a camera lens. I was debating the Lego Ghostbusters fire station but it's the space to keep it when it's done

anyoldname76 · 12/09/2017 19:08

..
Years ago avon used to do an aftershave and the bottle was actually a glass long boat!! With sails! I'm sure you could pick one up on eBay...

Fevertree · 18/09/2017 22:15

If anyone is interested haig club man whiskey and portobello road gin are reduced to clear in Tesco's express I got 15 off per bottle, under 12 each I paid for them! Smile

singadream · 19/09/2017 11:20

Wine society membership
A posh hamper of foods just he likes - my dh likes v spicy sauces and smelly cheeses and port and I like none of this.
Engraved hip flask

We are not well off so I have financial limits but I also find it tricky as DH has no hobbies, isn't a reader, etc etc. He still hasn't had his birthday pressie for the end of August actually! Oh & neither of us drink. He does love baking (just remembered I squirrelled away the GBBO Christmas book as it was £2 in The Works) so I could pick up some bits for that.

tigercub50 · 19/09/2017 11:26

Used to love Avon perfume bottles. They had a cute little Christmas stocking one year & I remember a butterfly too

KnitFastDieWarm · 19/09/2017 11:33

@chocdee that is genius - DH would love that and it's so personal and special. Definitely doing that this year!

TheNaze73 · 19/09/2017 11:34

Rugby tickets
Comedy event
Bottle of Chanel Bleu
A European city break
Pair of Levi's
Lacoste polo shirt
Full body massage
Virgin Experince Day
Flying lesson

KnitFastDieWarm · 19/09/2017 11:38

My DH is a bit tricky but he loves experiences and personal things - and anything related to gin or craft beer. We also always go for a posh and boozy afternoon tea every New Year's Eve while the grandparents looks after DC - shared experience gifts are always lovely especially when you're both mid child rearing and don't get much couple time together.

MrsCrimbo74 · 19/09/2017 11:58

For people wanting the games of thrones tour if you go to Buyagift they're doing a tour for two people for £80 but if you put in code XMAS98 it brings it down to £60

topcat2014 · 20/09/2017 19:34

I enjoyed last Christmas the most in a while, as I had expressly asked for no presents (apart from DC who made something).

There was no stress, therefore, about worrying about what I might be given.

I don't do gadgets, or all the generic 'man' stuff - and it was a relief.

I do accept this view is probably just going to be mine alone

Cakefortea1 · 21/09/2017 13:04

I am going to get mine a Mont Blanc Wallet.... any idea if they ever do sales or there is a go to website that do them slightly cheaper than the official one?
