2 DC G6 and B3. Going away for Christmas so need to be small in size but nice presents. Gifts from us and father Christmas (stocking fillers)
I know it's early but i always start shopping in September!
Thanks!

Budget please?

RJnomore1 · 10/09/2017 18:53

Also are you flying - weight restrictions?

Dizzywhore · 10/09/2017 19:11

Yes flying, so not to heavy.

From us £40-£100.

From father Christmas, a few gifts each around the £10-£20 Mark!

Will be watching with interest as I'm after ideas too. I'm thinking inflatables of some description eg goal posts, chairs, or even for a stocking filler something like inflatable guitar/saxophone. You can get them for a few punds from ebay and helps with the 'wow' factor when wrapped up (size-wise anyway)
I would say fold up scooters but may be too heavy.

RJnomore1 · 10/09/2017 19:26

What about a 2ds for the 6year old?

Dizzywhore · 10/09/2017 19:32

I like the inflatables idea! Very fun, even just for Christmas day!
DD has a tablet already.

How about Lego, colouring books and crayons etc. A book about going on holiday. Clothes. Stuff for the beach/pool

isittheholidaysyet · 10/09/2017 19:46

Don't forget that fr Christmas does a nice line in cards, wrapped up, which say 'I've got this (insert picture of toy, or wrapped present) for you, but I didn't think mummy/daddy would have room to bring it home in the suitcase, so I dropped it off at your house'

Works particularly well if the photo shows the present at child's house, in the place s/he finds it when they get home.

Christmas Pyjamas?

Saves on packing space too... one less pair of pjs to pack!

Fitzsimmons · 10/09/2017 22:00

Following as I'm also away at Christmas.

cravingcake · 11/09/2017 04:41

Puzzles or Orchard game. New clothes suitable for where you are going (swimsuit or t-shirt or jumper).
New story book, slim for packing & can be read while away.

cravingcake · 11/09/2017 04:46

Is there something they are really into (paw patrol, my little pony, emojis, shopkins, lego etc) that you could get one or 2 characters to give them on Christmas Day and then have a bigger play set that goes with it waiting for when you get home.

Like the paw patroller sea patrol boat I think is the latest thing & would be too big to take away but you can still give favourite character.

Could you buy some stocking fillers there - things they can use so you don't have the weight coming back? I.e. Bubble Bath
You could add a couple of 'promise' vouchers to their stockings - things you'll do when back home (cinema, 10 pin bowling) - or maybe there will be things there you could make vouchers for?

Annwithnoe · 11/09/2017 21:47

Lego - particularly if you take it out of the box (flatten the box) and puncture the bags with a pin to squeeze the air out
Play dough sets- again flatten the boxes, and possibly remove the playdough to replace their with shopbought or home
made.
Busy books get played with for hours and take up very little space. Available for most obsessions and currently 2 for £9 in Tesco
Pop up play tent or Wendy house was a big hit at this age
Dress up costumes
Large soft toys can be squished to nothing in vacuum bag (but use good quality vacuum bags!)

Thanks all! I'm thinking a watch for my DD6. And lots of books, Dvds, colouring/drawing bits and a dress up outfit.
A gift card for them both to choose something when we get home.
Cinema vouchers.

DS 3 will just be happy with new cars!
Books, Dvds for him too.

Thanks for your help x
