This year I am hoping to avoid the shops as much as possible and am thinking subscription gifts for parents and dh as usually go for experiences but its always a nightmare for everyone to organise time etc to go so want to avoid those this year. Can anyone suggest some good subscription ideas? X

Coffee. We get a bag of coffee delivered every week and it's amazing. I'm going to get by for a friend's wedding present.

Last Christmas I did bakedin for my daughter for her to have at uni. Stopped when she came home for the summer but it was very good. And for my partners granddaughter (5) I did the toucan box. Still doing it now and she absolutely loves it.

Thanks for your ideas and suggestions, have almost planned everyone's presents now! Will spread cost of some by direct debit over the year which will help too! Found this whilst searching, it maybe helpful to some else too www.ayearssupplyof.co.uk/

Instead of individual magazine subscriptions check out Readly. It really is fab.

It's about £7 a month and you can set up five devices with magazines. My dad subscribed and added my mum, me and my siblings - bargain for the price and each person gets their own 'sub account' do it remembers your preferences and what you were reading. Saved £££s on buying magazines! They've got a great selection, too - all the BBC ones and LOADS more. There's definitely something for everyone.

ThriftyClaire · 25/09/2019 23:11

hey everyone. Not sure if you're still interested, but I put together an updated list of subscription boxes.

Truth be told - I already have a few of them earmarked as Christmas presents this year.

My dd would love a Bakedin subscription... will keep an eye out for a good offer...

CoffeeChocolateWine · 27/09/2019 13:28

Love the idea of subscription gifts and some really lovely ideas here. Just wondering if anyone knows of something very similar to the Baked In subscription but aimed at children? My 7yo daughter loves baking and would love something like this but still has very simple tastes so might be a bit disappointed to make something a bit spicy or overly nutty that she wouldn’t actually enjoy eating! Is there something like this specifically for children that someone could recommend?
