My daughter also has her birthday in January so I like to start planning early for Xmas and her birthday. She's had all the usual stuff - bike, heelys and an iPod in recent years. She enjoys crafting but we have masses of stuff already! Any ideas gratefully received.

I've just come across LOL dolls! I think £10 seems a bit steep for them. Are they any cheaper anywhere please?

My just 9 yr old has got into Our Generation dolls, so I'll buy maybe another doll and outfit for her.
She had new bedroom stuff for her 9th Birthday including a fab lava lamp and wall mirror for her to help her to brush her wild, unkempt hair!
She still likes Smiggle and paperchase. Folders, etc
I'll also get her a nice hairdryer for her room.
I'll get her cheap perfume for her stocking

She wants a hair styling doll/head thing too.
She has an old iPhone 4s she got last year that she uses like a tablet in the house.. so might get her a new case and charger and ear phones.
She loves unicorns.. so they'll be some unicorn items in her stocking. Including a unicorn fingerling toy that is due out the end of next month

Any more ideas as we move closer to Christmas....
DD has her birthday in January so it's double the effort to come up with ideas!
Thanks everyone.

Slime
Slime
More Slime

So glue, contact lens solution (?!), shaving foam, glitter, smells, colouring etc etc.

And some YouTube links on how to make it and the myriad recipes you can use if she's not seen it before.

Oh gawd....yes the slime!! How much money have we spent trying to make this slime!?!
Perhaps I should just buy a giant vat of slime for Xmas- job done!!!

My DD turns 11 just after Christmas. She is interested in Smiggle stuff, tattoo pens and a karaoke machine so far. I'm sure the list will get longer...

slime: Hobby craft do industrial sized glue bottles, I have yet to find a cheap source for contact lens solution. Apparently it has to have boric acid in it Confused I get Sainsbury's own brand shaving foam.

Hobby craft also good for all the other shite they put in it.

I caught her putting in my MOLTON BROWN HAND CREAM into it last week. "It makes a lovely shimmer, Mum!" I bet it does. Angry

My 9 yr old DD also has a birthday near Christmas, so I feel your pain, OP! Grin

Ideas so far:

Rollerblades and protective gear to go with them
Smiggle backpack & pencil case (sorry Grin)
Bath bombs from Bomb Cosmetics (cheaper than Lush)
New game for her Nintendo DS
A knitting loom (no idea what this even is yet - I'm the least crafty person ever - but she has asked for one)
Fabric paints (she wants to design her own t-shirts)
Converse trainers
