Any one know when the Xmas wrap will hit the shops?

MelinaMercury · 12/08/2017 16:48

I ordered some from Studio this week, some nice stuff in the sales just now :)

randomer · 12/08/2017 16:52

Unwell

NoWordForFluffy · 12/08/2017 17:16

Ooh look, @randomer is back on the Christmas board like a harbinger of doom.

Some people look forward to / plan their Christmas well in advance, randomer get over it!

randomer · 12/08/2017 17:31

Why on a sunny summer day would someone feel theneedto wrap Christmas presents. If you are Christian it is an important day for you. If not what is it all for?

Nicpem1982 · 12/08/2017 17:35

Randomer - I was putting my laundry away and the top of my wardrobes are filled with gifts this prompted me to think "ohhh I need to wrap those, I could get them done whilst dd is away with ils next week I wonder where's got paper in stock" so here I am

You can probably get non-christmas wrap now that would still look christmassy! E.g metallics, sparkles, plain silvers or reds or golds. They'll be in the shops at the mo but will still fit in under the Xmas tree.
Alternatively there's ALWAYS Christmas stuff on ebay & amazon.

userofthiswebsite · 12/08/2017 17:41

So he/she is being well organised.. That's hardly a bad thing. Just one less thing to do nearer the time.

Nicpem1982 · 12/08/2017 18:16

User - precisely

I like to be able to do the fun stuff over Christmas and not have to cope with the bustle of the busy shops

FGS people are talking about Christmas on the Christmas board. If we were blathering on about Poncing in AIBU then ye might have a point. So shoo ye naysayer

Nic JL wrap is veh nice.

Talking about Poncing - am half tempted to stamp plain brown paper this year and use string to tie.

christmasunicorn · 12/08/2017 18:25

Ooo I'm loving this wrap from John Lewis. Technically it's not Christmas specifically but I think it would still look lovely with a good bow and tag

ToothTrauma · 12/08/2017 18:29

I bought all mine in the Paperchase sale after Christmas 2016

Nicpem1982 · 12/08/2017 18:51

Tooth

I lose it if I do that

Nicpem1982 · 12/08/2017 18:54

Donkey

I really like that for the grown ups

OP posts:
DonkeyOaty · 12/08/2017 19:04

I'm going to do that def for the adults.

Yes losing stuff happens here. Then you find it TOO LATE!

stumblymonkeyagain · 12/08/2017 19:29

I also bought mine in M&S in January sales

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/08/2017 19:40

I've got www.pipii.co.uk bookmarked for all things poncy for wrapping. I suspect I won't be buying anything this year as I bought shed loads of plain stuff two years ago and still have enough to wrap all the adult presents and DS would explode with joy if I wrap his presents in the Santa pugs paper from Studio. Xmas Blush

I've raised heathens, I'm sorry. Xmas Grin

Oncewaswho · 12/08/2017 19:53

I never wrap till December. I don't know why I'm reading this thread! But I'm off to investigate Santa Pugs paper right now Grin

Unicorn81 · 12/08/2017 22:29

Debenhams had paper in their online sale. Card factory was putting their cards out today too

WellLetsSayHesSquare · 17/08/2017 21:00

Got mine from studio a few weeks ago. Wrapped about half so far. I'm on mat leave atm returning September so I figured the more I can get done now the less I'll have to do in October half term.

Randomer why would you comment on a thread in the CHRISTMAS board if your such a grinch? Hmmm?

nickdrakeslovechild · 17/08/2017 21:05

If I remember, card factory got some cards and wrap in about this time last year. They were the first on the high street I hd seen.

kingfishergreen · 17/08/2017 21:06

I always leave wrapping until December, partly so I can remember what I've bought, but also because I fear the wrapping paper will get all dog-eared in the meantime. Any tips to avoid that happening?

VanillaSpiceCandle · 20/08/2017 13:55

To help stop the wrapping get torn you can wrap in cheap cling film. Even better is if you have a few small presents for one person as they can be grouped together.
