It can't just be me pinning ideas for Christmas greenery baskets for the front porch? No? I'm alone?

I can't remember how early the poncetastic thread starts!

Hairspray I'm lost for words, that is amazing, do you sell your things on a local market or is it for Christmas presents for family and friends? The chocolates look FITTO 👌

HairsprayBabe · 05/09/2017 11:23

Just make them for friends and family, not sure they are good enough to sell!

How does one make jam glittery please?

VivaJen · 05/09/2017 13:09

I now need the recipe for spiced jam!!!

Babelange · 05/09/2017 21:45

Wow this is fun! Some of you have quite a trawl! Unfortunately no one likes blackberries so no point making blackberry and apple jam here. We have an enormous pear tree and someone mentioned pickled pears to me (they are small and bullet like). I need to check recipes.
Unbelievably we have a full size olive tree (must have been planted in the 1930s when the garden was an orchard of a farm), it's currently in flower (heavily scented) but there are not many pollinating insects and when the buds grow they are stolen by the birds.

The jam was a load of fruit I'd picked and frozen including plums, raspberries, black currants, blackberries, red currants, blueberries, a load of sugar and some cinnamon and nutmeg. I stirred in edible glitter after decanting into jars. I stole the idea from an amazing jam I got from Fortnums a few years ago, it was supposed to be a gift for someone else but I kept it and it was amazing!

I'm a recent mumsnet addict although I signed up years ago. It pains me now to think how much I have missed over the years. But these Christmas threads ......oh God. You don't know how much I have hoped to find someone who loved Christmas like I do and here you all are!! I'm so bloody happy! Although I have read this entire thread I'm still a bit confused about the 'ponce' bit.
I started Christmas shopping in earnest today and I picked up a copy of the latest Avon catlalouge - well worth a look if you want some bargains. £8 for eight different lavender smellies ( bubble bath, bath oil, shower gel, room spray etc) which is a bloody bargain, plus loads of other great offers.
I'm going to make some rhubarb gin- found a recepie which sounds great and rhubarb seems to be very fashionable ATM, plus I will be making my Christmas spiced vodka which is the most glorious colour. Also making Christmas bunting this year with DD- some for us, some for family. Getting rather excited just thinking about it!!

I'm still yet to crack open my felt stash for Star Trek tree decs Shock but i have made a friend's 3yo a small doll to go with a Princess and the Pea storybook i bought. Will take pics later.

And i have rustled up some material to use as wrapping paper and drawstring bags instead of using stuff i'll throw away after unwrapping.

School starts back next Tuesday and i have already planned exactly what i'm going to sew all day Grin
