It's honestly the most bizarre looking thing.

A poncho with one long arm sticking out!

And it's a black and white chevron pattern - with a big band of wierd waviness through the middle. Just.....odd.

He was so pleased bless him!

"I just thought it was so cool! One arm! You don't ever see that!"
And.....
"It'll be brilliant for breastfeeding when we visit my family next week"

Oh god he's put so much thought into it! He's so sweet. I looked at his little face and I hadn't the heart....I told him it was amazing and the coolest thing I had ever seen.

And it's super heavy wool and feels frighteningly expensive. Oh god, I think he spent a bomb on a one armed black and white poncho!

I'm going to have to wear it for the rest of my life, aren't I? Blush

It's for when you need one arm unencucumbered by the fabric.

It's a Mexican bowling poncho.

PurpleMcPants · 25/12/2016 11:11

I love it! If it wasn't £136 I'd be buying one myself.
If you don't like it though, fess up and give him a chance to return it, spend the money on something you'd really like.

Zipideedodah · 25/12/2016 11:14

Hi along with it today, then in the next couple of days say something about how unfortunately it isn't going to work E.g too warm / allergy / dry clean only... Let him have the pleasure today and mention that it'll need to be returned another day.

Zipideedodah · 25/12/2016 11:15

Go along with it today...

ScrambledSmegs · 25/12/2016 11:18

I can see why you're not keen, despite the fact that it does look lovely. I've put on a bit of weight after kids and I now wear lightweight knits. Anything bulky makes me feel huge.

I'd be honest with him, despite the initial hurting of feelings. Years ago DH bought me a stunning designer dress for Christmas. It was so unflattering for my shape that I cried when I tried it on Blush. When I told him he was surprised because the shop assistant looked so good in it Hmm but we returned it and I bought something more suitable that I loved and used loads. He was happy about that.

Personally i would say nothing and wear it with pride . Somethings are more important than money.
A thoughtful husband being one of them!
Merry christmas one and all x

Oh I love it. I thinks that's gorgeous. But I would admit it's one of those items that is completely down to taste!

Hellooooitsme · 25/12/2016 16:51

Wear it with black skinny jeans and your black knee length boots and you will look fab.

MikeUniformMike · 25/12/2016 16:57

It looks great. Aren't you lucky having such a sweet and thoughtful DH.
I think you don't really like it so it would be best to get him to return it. Is there anything on the site that you could choose instead?

ChanandlerBongsNeighbour · 25/12/2016 17:38

I like it, you could definitely style it up!

Rubyslippers7780 · 25/12/2016 17:41

I think it is gorgeous!!

CheddarGorgeous · 25/12/2016 18:37

I think you look lovely!

Sleepysleepysleep · 25/12/2016 18:45

Ah I'm going to keep it. Loads of you like it, so I guess that means if I wear it out and about other people would like it too. And I've been wearing it all day and it is bloody lush wool-wise.

And DH really digs it, and he's been so patient with the eldest today who's been an overtired pain in the arse, so I guess I'm a sentimental old fool and am going to rock it cos I love him.

It's just such a shame it's not a jumper! The sleeve side is great! The other side just gets in the way.

BetterEatCheese · 25/12/2016 19:38

I really like it!

Libitina · 25/12/2016 21:40

Looks ok actually and you look nowhere near a size 16 OP!

Prettybaffled · 25/12/2016 21:50

I love it too and how cool that you have come round to it op! Xmas Smile

Sleepysleepysleep · 26/12/2016 08:14

Lol I am a stealth size 16. I don't tell anyone IRL and let everyone think I'm a 12. Shhhh!!!

Am going to wear it today to meet friends as will have to BF during in public during lunch and it does hide all that. So am going to be brave enough to wear it outside! Fingers crossed I can style it out!

There we are, perfect!

Bluntness100 · 26/12/2016 08:26

I think it's nice acrually. I wouldn't wear it as I think I'd probably feel quite self conscious but it's the sort of thing I'd look st on someone else and think that's quite cool.😃
