Also do you do it whilst they are sleeping Xmas eve or in the morning? I've always clumsily struggled at about midnight to transition the presents from hiding places to Xmas tree but this year I was hoping someone can share with me any genius ways they do it without waking Dc in the progress Xmas Smile

Hi Op, gone our my days of waiting till eldest falls asleep going to loft and dragging down amplified rustling bin bags full of crackling gifts Hmm

This year I hid them all in our bedroom in black bags, and when we go out on xmas day - and dc strapped into car, DH will run back in, and move the bags to pre ordained hiding space under our stairs. So route at midnight will be a few short steps from under stairs to tree AND if DH falls asleep as he has done every year I can move them myself without the worry of waking him up Grin.

Stocking we always left down stairs but this is sort of missing point of them, so am attempting to leave in their bedrooms this year Shock

I was onto the 2 stockings thing when Dd was 6 months old. Sent DH out to choose a stocking with strict instructions to buy two and he came back with one. And then the design went out of stock. Hmm

So now i have to make like a ninja ok have instigated the stocking is hung on the door handle outside of the bedroom Presents are loosely wrapped in bright coloured tissue paper or not wrapped depending on how i feel or how difficult it is to wrap.

I'll get all the presents out of their various hiding places and into our room whilst the kids are occupied downstairs on Xmas eve and shut the door. Then once they're asleep I'll ninja them downstairs.

Stockings I'll take them off their beds when I check on them around 9pm (and take my 4 year old to pee) and fill them to return when I come to bed around 10pm.

Husband is working this year late shift so ill be ninja-ing solo which is a bit more tricky as DH usually is here in the evening for distraction.

Presents are loosely wrapped in bright coloured tissue paper or not wrapped depending on how i feel or how difficult it is to wrap.

See, this is a total mistake. When your children are between the ages of 3 and 10 you must always properly wrap everything in the stocking. While this may seem like a waste of time and energy prior to Christmas, you will reap the reward on Christmas morning. While they are happily unwrapping (and playing with) all those bits and bobs, you get more time in bed. Any younger and they want you to help unwrap, and by age 10 they've figured out that the better stuff is downstairs so it doesn't buy any extra sleep so the wrapping is a waste of time.

I wrap everything up and then on xmas walk up and down stairs once kids sleeping and put the presents on the couch/and floor for them x

Stockings get filled on the stair spirals, boys go to bed and Santa sets up... (all go in different piles, Santa, mum and dad, familynoresents etc...

Bacon sandwich and hot chocolate in the morning after present opening... (to allow time to have a good old look and mum and dad can have coffee...)
