So he is wonderful, is the very best dad and Grandad ever. But he doesn't want anything, he works too hard to have hobbies and is so wealthy there's nothing I could buy him he doesnt have or couldn't buy if it occurred to him! So...any ideas please? Xx

What's your budget .? Is he on his own, does he live near you ?

Special booked trip out with you & DG

DG made gift - money can't buy those - handprint canvas if little- , drawn picture transferred to art canvas, does he like a particular wine or spirit ? - special version of them or a case delivered to home

Will keep thinking...

A day out with you all is a lovely idea.

Writing as a 50-something yo granny, with many friends (m&f) of the same age, I would look back to his youth, teens specifically. If you have access to early photos, a montage would be cool (though you may have left it a bit late for that!). Or a mug/other personalised thing with a favourite photo of him as a daft teen.

(In my family, that would include me with a poodle perm, my dBro looking like a serial killer, my sister heavily into punk... We are all respectable adults these days!)

Budget is about £50 but would go more of it was the perfect gift! We love very close and he lives with my mum. All my siblings live very close. Thank you for ideas!

I used gifty-ideas.co.uk to find ideas for my parents and inlaws (though I bought them in town, not off the site).

Not sure if it will help the grandad who has everyhting though, so maybe theatre tickets instead?

My OH received a hand written card in a frame one year. On it my DD had written something along the lines of " I cannot give you anything except my never ending love and gratitude for all you do and all you are"

Maybe jus write in a card why you love him so much.

We've had some success with "experience" presents - steam train trip, biplane flight. Made good family days out.

Also great photos or paintings of places the recipient knew in the childhood. Some of the better images we've had made into puzzles, which also went down well.
