plastic packaging annoying to wrap - do I remove?

We've got DD (almost 4yo) some figures from her favourite TV show. There are 5 of them, and each comes separately in the usual impossible to open hard plastic packaging. Each one includes various small bits as well as the action figure itself.

I'd ideally like to wrap them together as one or two presents, since I think that will give her the best balance of surprise/wow factor. But there's too much plastic packaging to combine them neatly!

Would it be better to take them out of the packaging before wrapping? For an adult, you'd obviously never do that because it would take away the 'newness' and the packaging is often attractive in itself. But I don't think she's sophisticated enough to be put off by it being altered before she gets it, and generally sees packaging as something annoying she has to wait for me to remove.

I am a bit worried that with all the little bits, it might become a bit of a jumble though.

What would you do? Am I making the present 'less' by removing it from the packaging before giving it to her?

My Dd has bought a little suitcase box and is putting the Lottie dolls and accessories she has bought into it.with a seller box inside for the very fiddly bit.

DGS has a helicopter that it took DH and I hours to unpack and check that it worked . We have put it back in the box but without the stupid packing screws !

Seller = smaller

What about leaving them in packaging but putting into a big wrapped box with shredded tissue inside to present them together as one 'big' gift.

When our dc's were young we always unpackaged toys ready for wrapping. There was nothing worse than battling the barbies for half an hour whilst they waited for it on xmas morning. Sometimes toys or sets were wrapped in storage boxes ready for play or simply placed back in the cardboard box without ties/wires. It was easier for all and kids could get their hands on right away. Less mess and risk of throwing items away on Christmas morning eith all the rubbish. For little items use a zip lock sandwich bag.

Great ideas - thank you!

Those packing screws and wires are awful, aren't they! I never thought to take them off and put back in the box - will be doing that for everything now!

And for the action figures, a big wrapped box sounds perfect.

Thank you all again - it seems obvious now you've told me, but just didn't occur to me!

Glad that's helped! Yes the wires are awful and those plastic tags that go into dolls heads! Real nightmare. Remember it well Grin
