She doesn't currently own any but is quite mature and girly and I think she would very much like some as a treat/for special occasions.

Happy to spend up to £20-£25 but not sure what she'd like best.

I was looking at urban decay but nothing is jumping out at me.

Recommendations welcomed please.

TIA

If she's getting into make up then maybe a session at a counter instead so she doesn't end up orange? One of those things where you pay for the session then redeem the cost against products?

I got my dd of a similar age the four benefit minis that boots do for £15 (plus free stocking). I thought they were a good size to experiment with and know it's a good brand that a lot of young girls wear.

I got my 13 year old dd a little make up bag for Christmas. I have put in it, a BB cream, a concealer, a brow mascara, a lip gloss, and a highlighter block.

I got her things that are natural looking that she can wear for school every day if she wants. She has beautiful skin and doesn't need anything heavy.

She sometimes asks me to do her a little bit of smudgy eyeliner if she's doing something special.

J used to get Boots 17 mame up palettes when I was a younger teen

My one is that age so I asked her. She says Models Own (they have pop ups in shopping centres and a stand in Superdrug), Urban Decay palettes (expensive), MAC (ditto), makeup revolution also good and cheap. She likes eyeshadow palettes in nude shades, mascara, bronzer light shade, concealer, natural colour lipstick, foil colour nails. She does a really good job of subtle application, obs only at weekends.

Thanks all. Just tried to order the benefit minis as that sounds perfect but the Boots website is awful (on an iPad), so I'll have to go to a store. The make up bag is also a brill idea and will top it up to my budget perfectly.

Thanks again

I should have scrolled down as just posted a near-identical thread above!

Am grateful for the tips here - thanks, and to OP!

Also a good idea to include in it some gentle-but-effective eye make up remover pads...instil the habits when they're young Xmas Wink

Debenhams and John Lewis sell a Benefit starter kit.

If she is just starting to experiment, recommend MUA (stands in superdrug)lots of their products are really good they have eye shadow pallets for £4 and some say they are as good as urban decay. Lipsticks are £1.
